Rudder dunking in your friends swimming pool...

You know you have issues when a friend wants to have a cookout and you bring three foamies and 50 batteries with you... Went to Alex's for some grilling and chilling and before you know it Aaron was dunking the rudder in the swimming pool ala Nall. He gets it wet twice in this video and still manages to fly out from under the shade cloth that covers half of the pool. All is well. Hope you enjoy the vid...

Well, Aaron's back! He hadn't been flying much in Germany but it didn't show. I got the 70 together with the help of a few friends. Thanks RCMC (Ralph) and CMALA (Craig). Couldn't have done it without you guys. So, the plane flies very well and only needs a few tweaks. Motrofly 4325 310 Kv from Ken (thanks) Castle Ice 100, 2x 4S 4200 Mah on a "Y" Spektrum Rcvr and Savox 1258s all around. We'll be puttin a little more time into it work-wise but it's pretty close right now. Time to fly. What a week. A lot of late night plane work was done let me tell ya. Packin' up for IMAC contest all weekend now. On the road again... Tell us what you think...

These 4 young guns are totally awesome pilots now but just wait.... they will each make significant impacts on the sport as we know it. Left to right this is Steven McCormack, Justin Jee, Tyler McCormack and Aaron Griffin. Picture is from the 2012 3DHS Fly Low In East. We're taking every opportunity to get the boys together this season. The last time they all flew together was at Joe Nall. I think we will all get together a couple more times this year too. Well, back to posting video...

Aaron NITE FLITE on the 3DHS EPP Yak54 071112 (3 min 23 sec)

Here is Aaron flying the 3DHS Yak with the lights on it. The wing lights were made by Michael Holman and Alex from Aurora RC provided the lights at the rudder. This is a bit of a pain to watch because of the camera not focusing too well at night. We are going to work on that for next time. Anyway, it is what it is and we had fun. Enjoy

Another hot one. Aaron flew foamies in the yard a few hours, ducking into the A/C to cool off every few batteries, and then we did take the trailer up to the field. We put the AW Extra up and he flew it really well. I took what I thought was video of the whole flight and then I figured out I wasn't on record...

But, he then wanted to, of course, fly the Slick. I did get video of this one He's been learning weeble wobble on the foamies and this was the first time I saw him try any of it on the Slick. It only happens once in the vid though. Anyway, get in touch, keep in touch, keep flying and we hope you all have a great week.

Yet another flight on the 51" AJ Slick. Aaron gets more and more comfortable on the plane every day. I can tell that the SLcik is going to be one he remembers forever. Thanks to Ralph for bringing this plane to my attention. So darned hot here that we've been going to the field in the evening for just a few flights. I think it was 102 today. We went to the hobby shop and just chilled pretty much. We did get liquid smoke so stay tuned for some gas plane fun any day now once it cools off a bit...

We're ready to fly at night now. The plane is flying pretty well and just got the light set up. It's an easy setup and produces some nice results I think. The flight pack gets hot running motor and lights on a 3S 2600. Now I'm thinking about hooking Aaron's lights up to a separate 2S or 3S 450mah LIPO because they are small and will isolate the usage the lights put on the plane. Do you think the 3S 450 will be too heavy or not put out good light for a 5 minute flight?

Aaron Griffin (Charm City IMAC) (4 min 39 sec)

This is from Yesterday and it is the flight Aaron had before the others that I took video of flew. This was a pretty good flight but today's was even better. I only have a few seconds of today's round of freestyle but it was a good flight. Aaron flew against some good pilots and had a great time.

The Recovery of Chris' AJ Slick at Charm City (2 min 22 sec)

Well, we got Chris plane out. It was found by Brad and it was in some thick stuff. This is a vid of the boys bringing it out. Nice bunch of guys here in our IMAC group this year. We go get your plane immediately every time if there is a problem. Hopefully Chris will be back up tomorrow. IT WASN'T BAD EXCEPT FOR THE PROP DAMAGE.

Some stuff from the Freestyle event at our IMAC contest today. A friend has some vid of Aaron's run but I didn't take video since I was talking to Aaron and spotting for him. Unfortunately our good friend Chris had his rudder pull the deans apart on both batteries at the end of this vid. The plane went in but was thankfully only lightly damaged. I've got some vid of the recovery project too but we'll see. I may post it. Anyway, enjoy... we'll be flying IMAC again tomorrow and there will be another freestyle, so, more vids coming...

Evening of the Slick 062912 (6 min 27 sec)

We had about an hour... drove to the field and realized we left the radios at home... drove home and back... and got a video and two flights in... sometimes that's the way the day goes. Two flights is twice as good as no flights I suppose. Anyway, hope you enjoy and sorry we haven't had much up lately. We built an Edge 540 recently and put that in due to an aileron pushrod failure last night LOL

But, that can be pieced back together without too much effort. Contest this weekend and working on the Extra to get ready for that now. Again our luck, drove all the way to a field an hour and a half away last weekend, put the 60cc Extra together, ready to fly and no surfaces moving at all. Long story short, JR921X with only one remote receiver and one of the wires to that satelite had broken which makes the whole receiver useless. Glad it was found on the ground though and we're running two sats from now on... SCARY stuff... 3 hours of driving last weekend and no flying that day... see how it goes sometimes...

I'm glad the good days are good enough to offset that stuff

We had an IMAC contest two weekends ago in DE and this past weekend was dedicated to flying at our most local field... and, for kicks on Saturday, we were in the control tower at the next closest airfield. The Blue Angels were using the field for take offs and landings while doing their show for Baltimore's "War of 1812 - Sailabration"

Anyway, we have some vids ready to put up but need time because we've been working on a few small planes in the meantime. Catch up soon...

IMAC Freestyle (4 min 8 sec)

This is Aaron flying an electric 3DHS 51" AJ SLICK followed up by Chris Thorpe of 3DHS flying an electric 89" Slick. This was during the Freestyle portion of our IMAC Event. The Slick(s) really do everything well. As you can see, Aaron's style is more tumbling, rolling and points. Chris is very controlled, precise and graceful. I was excited to find this on Youtube already since we didn't get video and he just flew it yesterday... Anyway, enjoy.
