A local field around the Baltimore area known as SWAP has a fly in every year and they invited Aaron out to do a demo flight. So, Aaron flies the Extreme Flight 70" Extra 300 EXP. The plane tracks well and presents great. Aaron hits wing and elevator in harrier just after the 5 minute mark. Fun day and nice when it all comes back in one piece!
Great guy and love Chris' flying. The dirt at this field, and the fields around it, really is black. It is farm land but it's actually like floating on an underground lake. When someone walks by, you can feel the ground moving around you. You'd have to see it to believe it. Black Dirt 2013 and Chris on the 104 Slick. Good times. This is our end of IMAC season contest and the Freestyle is like a celebration. Watch Chris working out on this flight.
The prop is now an 18 x 10 APC Electric which is much faster and more fun. But, it cavitates and loses traction when loaded up and wide open which is a little scary, loud and not so nice. So, the quest continues. I think a stiffer 18 x 10 is the ticket. Anybody find a nice 18 x 10 carbon anywhere?
Motor and packs are staying pretty cool. Definitely thinking of switching props for more pull. This is an 18 x 8 on 8S. Thinking at least an 18 x 10. We have 6S packs @ 5000 mah but going to those and a 19" prop might take flight time down. So undecided on that. Plane tracks very well and is just shy of being totally set up for all the 3D Aaron can do. Won't dirty torque roll yet and it won't hang on the prop too well either. Let us know if you have any suggestions...
Here is our good friend Tyler having a good freestyle flight at one of the best RC fields in Hurlock, MD. We had a great time all weekend and Tyler was a big help for us. Thank you Ty and awesome flying man!
Aaron got in a pretty wild flight on the AW Extra once again. This is at Lums Pond IMAC Challenge 2013. No one felt like flying a freestyle so they let him go up and put on a show. Enjoy the flight guys and gals. FLY LOW!
Had a little thrill on a rifle roller about half way through this flight. I was like, whoa baby but kept on hammering out the flight... fly low baby... gotta love when she comes down smooth on the wheels in one piece.
Aaron flew at a real nice field with some nice folks today all day. This field is a little over an hour away but thinking about joining this club. The hot day was not such a problem since we had some shade at the pavilion but the flies were kinda bad today. June flies I think there called (quite appropriately). So, kinda flying the heck outta the plane. The pilot is all loose in the canopy and flopping around now. Might switch to a new plane at the end of this season but this AW takes a beating and floats OK. COuld go a little lighter with carbon gear and wing tube. Anyway, hope you enjoy the video. This is the last flight of the evening before packing up and heading home. Long day but well worth it.
