The servos that I will be running in my 91" Extra are coming later this week. They are the Savox SV1270TG High Voltage servos. I'll be running them on native 2S, and will have 487.7oz torque at 7.4 volts. I will post again when the servos get here. All that is left after these servos is the DA70 twin engine, and misc. parts such as the Fromeco Wolverine, gas tubing, gas tank, etc.

Servo Review:

NEW!! Savox 1270TG Servo Unboxing - 487 in/oz of torque! (6 min 24 sec)

This morning, I ordered my newest airplane. An Extreme Flight 91" Extra 300 EXP! I'm excited to try a plane from Extreme Flight (first purchase from them) and I'm also really happy to go 50CC. I'm planning on running the EME60 with Savox 2270s all around. I'll maybe run a pipe or a canister, I'll decide after flying her a bit

Last night ; 7/18/12 , I had my introductory flight with the EAA Young Eagles organization. My Pilot was named Mr. Abel, it turns out him and his brother both flew R/C too! We all had dinner at a restaurant on the airport that was called, "The Beacon" . When you first walk into the Beacon, there's a Top Flite F4U Corsair model hanging from the ceiling, it's pretty cool! Most of the pilot's at the meeting flew R/C also! One man presented about an RV10 that he built, and brought. My flight was in a Cessna 150F. Once we were off the ground, I took the controls and flew the whole flight. Flying in such a small plane is amazing! Afterwards, I flew a short R/C Demo with my 3DHS 33" EPP Extra, and then we stopped by Mr. Abel and his brother's hangar (they live in it ) . They had seven airplanes, and a 1966 Mustang in there that I got to drive! This monday, they're heading up to Oshkosh, and hopefully if they can buy a biplane in time, they will be racing at Reno! Enough for my talking, enjoy the pictures . In summary, the EAA Young Eagles is a great program, and everyone should give it a try!...Continue Reading

Went down to Austin R/C Association this weekend on the 14th for a nice little goodbye event for Bonedoc. Had a great time as usual at ARCA, and Eddie's Hawaiian chicken is amazing ! Thanks to Mr. Gordon for bringing me some EPP Planes to fly! Flew the 48" EPP A lot and I think I will be selling my 42" Slick to get one! Also, big thanks to Eddie for letting me fly his 119" Extra powered by a DA120! Had a great time flying it, and I admit, bigger does fly better ! Also, when it came time for my family to leave, we saw a car wreck (car had flipped and hit a tree) outside ARCA. Josh ran right out there and helped EMS bandaging people up, and left his own event! That, is what heroes are made of! In summary, I had a great time at the event, and cannot wait for Hucktoberfest so I can come down to Austin again. ...Continue Reading

Fly Low In 2011 was hosted at the 114th RC Aero Squadron in Grapevine, Texas. I find it hard to believe that It was a year ago that I had my first sip of the 3DHobbyShop Kool-Aid! I bought my 42" Slick at FLI and met a lot of the community. Ben helped set me up, and maidened the plane for me. Here's my photos from that event!...Continue Reading

Fly Low In was amazing this year! Congratulations to Joe for winning the night freestyle too! Night freestyle was amazing, and will be for years to come. Bonedoc lost an 89", and Twistedgrim lost his vyper. Had a great time at FLI, and thanks to Wamsy for the help with the 8FG Programming. Thanks to Bivens too for the offer to fly the 57", and the 104"! I lost track of time, and will have to take you up on it next year! I'll be ready. Had a great time night flying with the 33" EPP too! The 8FG is an amazing radio.

On to the 41" Edge... Had a little mishap earlier in the day. Went into a full throttle Knife Edge spin, and the motor flew right off the plane, and took the motor box with it. Was able to deadstick land with no damage other than a missing motorbox (found that still attached to the motor). Repaired that with the help or RobJ; Thanks Rob! Afterwards, I let Trixie wring out the plane, and I think she had fun. The death happened later. I'm not fully sure what happened, but all I know is I couldn't pull out of a dive. I'm thinking my motor box repair came undone, but I may have just waited too long. I may try to repair it, but it would basically need an entire new fuse. Due to that, I may sell the electronics along with my spektrum stuff and pick up the 48" EPP Extra. What do y'all think?

The 8FG Super arrived about 2 hours ago. I let it charge a bit and since I've been playing with it. Very nice radio, smooth sticks. Complex to program, but if you read the manual you figure it out fast. Those are my first impressions. I may do an unboxing, and review.
