I really liked this plane. But, it is really slow. Not sure if it's my style.
It looks great in the air though.

GWS P51D Mustang
So I have a typhoon for "crazy 3d" stuff. I have a slow flier - the Jenny . Now, It's time for speed.
Parts needed:
Mustang kit
3 servos (better than HS55's, just 1g more)
motor
Prop
25A Otter ESC (already have, - but an 18A ESC would be more "fitting")
berg 4ch RX (already have)
csrc 1500 15c packs (already have)
tx (have)
Video that made me do it...

Build log.
My first "ARF Plane build".
"ARF".. I had a miss-conception for "almost ready to fly".
What this means is, that you get a bunch of parts and spend many hours building a plane. Also, you must go out and buy all the electronics, and even a prop! That's ok, it was fun. Just those words and what you do has no relationship. A "ARF" to me meant "PNP". Add a few parts and tweak it out. But I learned. Not so sure that I'd be interested in doing it again.. due to time.
hardware:
Jenny JN-4
ThunderBird 9 ESC
CSRC 2s 800
Hitec 4ch Feather RX
motor
prop
E-Flite S75 servos (2)
Also bought some mini esc to motor plugs and a small battery plug (like the CSRC batteries use) from hobbytown as well.
HobbyTownUSA pretty much has all of these parts. Except the motor and lipo. Well they have the Eflite 250 motor ($50) and the crazy expensive batteries.. but..
There is a few issues with the instructions:
One of the things the instructions forgot to mention is that those push rods are WAY to long and will just hit the front cabin. I find that they are very brittle and more or less shatter when trying to cut them down to size.. But I did get them down. I had to tighten that screw so when they did shatter, it would not break beond the screw point.
What the instructions SHOULD say, is to "bend the push rod , THEN put it onto the plastic connector for the wings, THEN attach the...Continue Reading

CH3 - ESC power
CH4 - HH Gyro
CH5 - X
CH6 - PIT servo
CH7 - X
Airtronics 6000
Elev - reversed
AL - reversed
RU - reversed
F-mode - N
PPM

newer pic
I have turned it on, and tested power and small spool ups. However, things I know need to be done:
- Blade tracking *
- Tail/servo tuning and adjustment (HH etc) *
- trimmed all around mechanically *
- TX is working fine, however I want this heli setup and saved as "heli 1" or whatever and know how to switch to another craft
- Setup the timer on the TX and time my lipo's . I don't have a digital readout on my charger/balancer to test and estimate flight time
- wire cleanup

Make CP blades
The stock skids are fine, however the screws that hold them into the main body are tiny and quite worthless. So once getting the CP2/Blade CP skid set, you will need some better screws. (you can do this with the stock skid holders, however you really have to force them in).
By using these screws, they go all the way through and are slightly fatter than the stocks. As you can see, they just barley go into the boom holder - hot quite hitting the boom or wires. I wish I got the same screws, but phillips... these are flats.. but work so much better.
Lowels store. About $1.00
