This is a list of tools, tips, short cuts, etc. I have found to be very useful, fun, and enlightining.

Around 3:30 the sun came out and the roads started dry....I grabbed the FunJet and headed to LC. For those of you not familiar with the FunJet Saga.....Gary (Sky_Cap) gave me the FunJet (hand-launch). First order of business ... WHEELS (unconventional gear). Andy and a few others tried to maiden it. Could not control it on the ground. Added Rudders and Nose wheel steering. Many a run down the runway and no lift off. Jacked up the nose gear 1" and we had liftoff...kinda shaky at best.....but always ended in crash.

Swapped out the brass steering rod for steel, re-aligned the dual front tires, and reworked the elevons....

Tonight, I got 5 of the prettiest scale takeoffs and landings ... It takes off and lands just like a jet. Got it down to 75% power on takeoff - she lifts her nose ever so smoothly and then the mains follow about 10 seconds later. On landing, with power, she touches down on the mains, holds the nose up as speed bleeds off, and then slowly lowers the nose wheel to gently touch down. WOW was I thrilled.

Gonna try again tomorrow morning (weather permitting). I need about 10 -15 take-off/landings and I think I will be ready to step up to the SU-27. From there, to the Habu, then the eFlite Jumbo Jet, and finally the Lear Jet. OMG, I just might be an RC pilot yet!

Goal: Clean up the wiring and simplfy the Preflight setup.

I am thinking I will put two 6-channel Orange receivers in my Jumbo Jet. RX #1 in the fuse and RX #2 mounted to the Wing .

So thinking this through

THROT = Connected to the two ESCs via "Y"
RUDD = Connected to the Rudder and Nose Wheel Servos via "Y"
GEAR = Provide Power to RX #2

THROT = Get Power from RX #1
AILE = Connected to Ailerons via "Y"
AUX1 = Connected to the Flaps via "Y"

Actually, YES! "Y"s eliminate the need for differential programming. however, the rudder / nose wheel differentials is a very interesting idea....

But, there is actually a method to my madness....I want to simplify the assembly to fly process. Right now it is a mess of wires that need to be hooked (6 or so connectors) up between the fuse and the wing. two receivers appropriately programmed, will eliminate the mess. When done, I need only connect two connectors and I am ready to go. Just want it to simple, quick, and easy. Look at it as a simulated S-BUS type approach.
