Quiet blog because I was this year flying and learning turbine technology.
Lot of fun and i love the power.
I converted my Electra to a HST 77 Schubeler fan on 12 cells + I added Lado retract and better Pro Link struts.A New plane very quiet and battery are only warm after 9 minutes of flight.
I converted the TamJet F16 1/8 to a JetMunt 80
I have a F15 Skymaster ( small one ) with JetCentral Cheetah
Aermacchi with a JetCat 70
Im building a Christen Diffusion Mirage this winter.
Behotec E-retracts, air brake , Jet Munt 80 ( from the F16)

Brian Bassey publish an article in RC modelFlyers december 2013 edition.
I alway love the Yak and the story of the Normandy -Niemen french squadron group who joint the Soviet airforce during WW2. I read almost all the french book on the subject .
The size was perfect for my 50 Turnigy motor and what i like was a mix of balsa and composite construction . The designer use a 50 4 stroke engine . But in the lane it's room under the front hatch for two 4S 5000 pack . But in this case I will use 5 or 6 5000 may cell . With out lead.
For retract it's spring air and Robart Struts , wheel tail its a HKing electric retractable tail wheel with one pull-pull cable . JetTronic retract valve.
Here i't not a construction thread but I will post pictures and anybody can ask for help.
Canopy it's home made and Cowling the same , with the lost foam methods
I use 1 once , and carbon fibre with west system epoxy.
The model is cover with .70 and .50 once fibre glass with resin for the wing and water DeluxeEZE-Kotefor the rest of the airplane .
Maiden should be next May . Or maybe I should try to fly now because the temperature is like Siberia here!...Continue Reading

I ad this Fun Jet for a while and one of the brushed motor die. I did not like the sound of the prop.
Instead removed the motor and made a little pod for a 70 CS fan.
Try yesterdays with a for S 4 5000mah.
Enjoy ...or not

Few month ago I find on RC Universe a short kit for sale : include was : formers for the fuse and formers for nacelles and main spar, very precise cut but kind of banana shape
A good start for a one of my favourite Jet !
I ad to enlarge the plan to meet the scale etc, etc...
It's also an old thread from Philip on this forum . This help me a lot.
The original was catapult . I have some nice lite small air retract and I decide to use them. Motor and fan 2 CS 70 mm for a 5 cells ~ 3300 mah
2 servos for ailerons + 1 for stab +1 steering and one for air valve .
I started with the fuselage ; planking with 3/32 balsa , typical building ...and follow with the wing , much more complicate , but I manage to made not to many mistake and I'm happy for the result.
The ESC are bury in the wing , when finish I will make some scoop for cooling.

Last Sunday I finally maiden my Tam jet A4..
I was nervous $$$ but everything want very easy and the plane need only two click of up trim . When I deploy the flaps , the plane feel solid and slow down. I was a bit fast on landing and I broke the front wheels support, I have a feeling this was previously damage. Because I bounce once and flair nicely with the main wheels ....easy fix.
Our friend Larry was @ the club with is amazing camera.
Fan : TJ 120
ESC : CC HV120
12 5500 mah Generation Ace .
19 lb RTF
TJ retracts and , brake.
Duration : 5 minutes , 3.7 v per cell after cell . I have to manage the power better for next flight who will be @ our EDF event June 16-17

This is an old plan from the 90 ' for a Hawker Hunter made of pink or blue foam
wing span : 27 inches , length: 30 inches
I'm using a Alfa 5 bladed fan , Eflite esc and 3 Hitec HS 55 servo, Battery 3 S 850 -1300 mah .
Weight RTF is under 800 g.
If somebody is interested to build one I can made copy of the plan and send to you for the cost of shipping only.
I know you can oder the bigger version for a 70 mm fan with Traplet UK.
Chris Gold design the model for the Wemo micro fan but I enlarge the template (C) and I 'm using a bigger fan!
I'm glassing the model with finishing resin and .75 once cloth . The tail section is 3/32 balsa, coated with few layer of PVA tinted with red dye.
I will hand launch and not bungee.
Next is the video of maiden flight

Cool!! I just started the "put together" of the best 90 mm Hawk on the planet.
The construction is very good glass fibre, carbon and honeycomb materiel. The average weight is ~ 2.2 kg with 8 S 3800 mah lipos cells.
I 'm not using the Schubeler mechanical retract I'm using the Air-up down-spring C21 Behotec . Functional main doors with a small servo. Front , only a Soni- Tronic small spring and a Kevlar cord to close the doors. Works perfectly.
Front wheel fold forward and the pull pull need a return hook...
I have a DS-51 DIA HDT fan with Lehner motor and HV 110 castle Creation Controller to power the Jet.
The builder still have some work to do " for the price" you can buy 10 Hobby King Hawk...but this is the state of the art model...

Ok,
I got this half kit from a ezoner , directly from Germany. This was a IDF plane made around 10-15 years ago. I like the tick wing for big retract to land on grass. The intake will be ~ scale .
Fan is a TJ 100 , 10 S 5000 mah XPS , Springair retract , 4 servos in the wings
, 2 servos for the stabs i for steering and maybe 2 more for gear doors .
So far: a fix the fuse and wet sanded, glass the wing with .75 glass , and i'm presently making the plug for intake.
Ok : wing are glassed and mixture of red filler and acetone brushed to fill any pin holes.
Cut former for tail , finish glass -carbon intake for TJ100. Redo the front intake to have room for retract.

Ok
I purchased this MSB Drakken http://www.mbs-rcmodels.se/ kit on RC Universe for half the price, thank God
Not an easy build: lot of little balsa sticks, the quality is very good but I think a good set of plan will help the builder a lot.. I made some major mistake , but " c'est la vie"
The Drakken is fit with mini retract : air up and down.
5 2200 20C cells ( cheap) and a 70 mm Het fan and a Typhon 2w30
70 Amps controller .
5 servos: rudder, tracking, retract valve and 2 for elevons.
The intake are soft plastic , i added carbon tow , trust and exaust tube are 1/64 plywood roll( not in the kit)
I made 3 access doors under the fuselage : fan, cells and retract and servo tracking in the front.
I will have small door for front landing gear and just opening for main gear, I have some nice spring strut for the weels.
here fews pics, the fairing @ the back is not scale, I plank the former instead forming balsa....
I will cover the plane with light fibreglass .60 once .......
hatch latch is done .
Cover bottom with .75 once...Continue Reading
