Here she is, complete with flaps. I brought her to SEFF, and she got a lot of flight time. She also got a LOT of attention - including from the Horizon guys.

She was my favorite flyer, right up until I got my P-51 this week. (Shhhhh! Don't tell her she's dropped a rung.) Shooting touch and goes with her is a blast.

She has stock everything except for the paint and the flaps.

She looks stunning in the air.

The Super Cub was my first recent RC plane - the one I really learned to fly on. I guess I found a couple Air Hogs in Walmart and actually ended up on this site learning about them. This is where I heard about the SC.

I flew the absolute tar out of it. Until September of last year. I was out in the afternoon for a flying session by myself. I had her way way up til she was a spec. My intention was to power off and fly in lazy circles for a while - I jsut wanted some real relaxing flight time.

Then, I don't know if sweat got in my eyes, or if I had an allergy attack, but both of my eyes started burning fiercely. By the time I could open them again, the SC was gone. Not a sight, not a sound. It was a sickening feeling.

Of course, I already had a T-28 on layaway, so I went down and got that the next day.

But I never forgot my beloved SC. Everytime I drove by my flying field, I would look, hoping to spot a speck of white in the trees.

Then Christmas day comes along. It was the first Christmas morning I had EVER spent alone. My ex had moved out, and she had my son x-mas eve and morning, while I had him for x-mas afternoon. It was a very very tough lonely morning helped by a bunch of mimosas. I threw quite the pity party for myself.

So, later on I drive to pick him up. On the way home, we pass by my flying field, and I tell him - "You know, every time I drive by here, I always look for my Super Cub. I always expect to see it."

So we get to the...Continue Reading

I got a Corsair from my parents for Christmas. Yes, I am ashamed to admit that I played the "poor me I'm getting divorced and I'm not getting any good presents" card on them.

Seriously, my folks have always been super generous, and they know how much happiness flying brings to me. Hey - they saw the remains from all those balsa planes I tried to fly back in high school.

The bad part is I had to wait for a week and a half to get it home before I could fly her.

May she rest in peace, and not the pieces I left her in....
