Es no bueno!
Squirrels only come in light brown around my neighborhood and this thing doesn't look brown to me. With those razor sharp teeth and large black oil filled eyes, it's clear that this is the infamous Chupacabra that I saw today. Looks like it's just waiting to pounce on people that walk under it so I didn't get too close.

Saw the film and really liked the QuadCopter that is in it so I thought it might make for a nice build. Flight controller will be a standard Wii sensor board with arduino Nano that I took out of an old build. Servos and motors are glued right into the foam.

Nice trailer with good reference in it..

This was the second transition attempt. First attempt went just as well but I didn't have the camera rolling.

With this the last day of 2013 I couldn't help but remember a fellow modeler that passed away this year. Evett of Evett's model shop on Ocean Park boulevard. My first model, an AeroStar 20 with a K&B glow engine was purchased from him along with an AM radio. He was always very help full with any questions that my father and I had for him. He is the one that taught me how to fly. I would go out to the Apollo XI Field at the Sepulveda Basin with my father and Evett would be there ready to teach me how to fly. He was also instrumental in getting the Apollo XI Field at the Sepulveda Basin set aside for model aircraft and helped to maintain it. There is a nice plaque at the field recongnizing his contributions. He is missed but not forgotten.

His shop is still open and run by his wife. Luckily I am still able to go in for supplies and say hello from time to time.

Got my first up close and personal look at the world famous DJI quadcopter today. It was more impressive than what I expected. Nice small size and looks easy to control. I was surprised to learn it has GPS, compass and barometer for height hold all under the protective plastic frame.

Saw this quadcopter at Siggraph 2013 today. Never seen a quadcopter shown at Siggraph before so it was pretty cool to see one there.

Osprino-V3 is now working good. I've flow it on the wing for 8 minutes so far. I'll have to add this to the kickstarter as an additional reward.

My crap camera can only record for 5 minutes but I've flown it for 8 so far.

On my way to the local hobby shop I found some cool stuff parked in the corner.

Looks like Starscream soaking up some rays with his pals while waiting to make the next Transformers film. Those hollywood type do live the good life.

Wasn't sure if I could make it fly without a vertical stabilizer but the initial tests look very promising.

Had the privilege to meet Bruce Jenner twice a couple weeks ago. Yah, I'm a little slow and didn't realize it was him at the time. I was out testing a tricopter VTOL airplane at the time and he was nice enough to show interest in my little tri. Cool guy to talk to.

The guy is damn good at 3D heli flying! Some of the smoothest 3D moves I have ever seen.
