This is another video (Better one) of my Bungee Catapult Launcher for My R/C Planes...Specifically my Sky Walker X8 & my XF-61 Phantom Flying wings both set up for FPV use. This can be used on many different kinds of R/C Aircraft and is easy to build.
I got my inspiration for this from R/C Groups and more Specifically a User there "Brett".
Thanks so much for the great idea Brett. Credit goes to you for this innovative design and great idea!!..... Well Done

Well I finally have started to revive many of my Nitro Birds after years of storage and have started to prep them for next summers flying season. This is my Top Flite B-25J Mitchel with twin Saito 82 Gold Knight 4 stroke motors on her controlled by an electronic "Twin-Sync" setup, Controlled individual bomb release and full working Bomb Bay, along with a Working rotating Top Gun Turret.

I'm currently working on converting the Robart Pneumatic 630 Retracts to the New electric version with the electric conversion kit from Robart, also a few modification to the gear doors sequenced open/closed operation....Continue Reading

Ok...I started the ShockWave sound modification to my "Obsession" P-51 Mustang that I was working on this last spring. Hope to have this all finished up by next weekend. Still a little undecided on the front speaker or speakers lay out yet? Not sure if I'm going to use two 3 inch speakers in the nose (one on each side in speaker boxes) -or- another 4 inch speaker on the bottom in the nose, also in a speaker box?

The speaker box adds a much deeper and richer sound I have found rather than just mounting the speaker directly in the foam. The box also reinforces the the weakened area where the foam has been removed, so I'm not concerned there.

The balance of the speakers and sound module will be here on friday.....I will be busy on it this weekend....as well as on the A-1 SkyRaider doing the same thing and finishing up the LX Corsair sound mod too

Six years later, and I'm finally getting around to doing the maiden flight on her with the sound system..... Inflight Maiden flight video footage 3/17/2017

My FMS BF-109

Well I started working on my FMS BF-109 Messerschmitt. Not sure exactly what Livery I'm going to do yet? so for now I'm leaving it in the winter stock scheme

I noticed right away that the inboard flap sections do not close well and I have one that is slightly warped. Also the linkage between them is preventing the outboard sections from lining up with the ailerons trailing edge properly, It's just slightly off and drooped....Continue Reading

Here is some of the work I've done to the Freewing ME-262. The stock pilot is actually one of the better stock pilots I've see and decided to go ahead and use him with a repaint make over done to him to give him a bit more depth and realistic look. I also added some more details to the cockpit I noticed from studying some online documentation reference photos.

I also repainted over all of the nuetral gray areas on the plane with a darker Green gray and added some weathering effects....Continue Reading

Just finished making a new set of storage racks for my FMS Birds and a transport rack for my pickup from and idea that "Sundancer" did and got his idea from "MRFASTPHILL" https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/member.php?u=236107 who did the origional concept design. I like "Sundancer" https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1323713 also expanded on it and did a few tweeks and additions of my own to mine, to suit my wants better.

The extra 2 wing cradels aren't shown in these pictures as well as the extra fuselage support. In it's current configuration it's rigged to carry 5 planes.

Most of the origional measurements I got from Gary "Sundancer" and then stretched them a bit, with the addition of the third trap piece in the middle, which fits perfectly in the back of my 97 Chevy Silverado 3/4 ton. I did a road test with it today fully loaded at speeds up to 65 mph on the freeway, and like Gary posted on his blog with his...it handled it with no problems at all, and everything stayed nice and secured. ...Continue Reading

Here are pictures of several of the Modified "Aces of Iron" pilots I have done for myself and others here on RCG. I don't put boots or shoes of any kind on them since typically they are covered up or hidden and you can't see them anyway... helps save weight, But if you wanted to ?...usually at any craft store you can find stuff like doll shoes and G.I. Joe boots and that sort of thing and just simply glue them on.

For anybody interested in having me make one for them?...shoot me a PM. Typically for this size guy I charge $175.00 painted and shipped or $125.00 unpainted (to the Continentals US Lower 48 States) (Over seas shipping is extra due to higher cost) and you provide the "Aces of Iron" pilot bust shipped to me (I do not want to infringe on their copy right figures), I'll modify it and paint it up (or not, your choice?) like I did mine (special painting request taken also) and ship it back to you. I do these in my off spare time off from work, If you send payment please do so via Pay Pal (which I prefer).

If you just want a the "Aces of Iron" bust figure painted up, I charge $75.00 (labor) (You provide the pilot shipped to me) which includes the cost of shipping him back to you (within the continental U.S. - Outside the U.S. is extra depending on shipping rate table at time of shipping and method?). For painting only, ...I can usually finish one in about a week or two, about 30+ hours labor involved, give or take? (some time it takes...Continue Reading

Hi Folks, this is the first time I have ever started a build thread, but since I was back in the mood for a little EDF building... I thought I would share some of my ideas here and welcome all the other fine craftsman and builders out there to gather together and share our experience and creative ideas. Well here goes....I have recieved a new LX twin 70mm EDF F-18 ARF in the "Diamond Viper 50th anaverary scheme" from Banana Hobbies to build and evaluate.

My first impression after opening the box and going over all the pieces is WOW!!!...Beautiful plane and very detailed, more so than the previous LX 70mm EDF's. I've posted several quick pictures (Sorry for the focus problem on a few of them, My camera is not the greatest) and will post more as I begin to assemble the portions of this Beautiful Aircraft over the next week or so....Continue Reading

Some of my planes past and present, and have been doing this since 1987. My passions are War Birds both Nitro and Electric, I ventured into EDF jets with the help of my good friends Bob Ruff and Robert at EJF and have fell in love with them ever since, but always a war bird fan, both Prop and EDF.

I've met some fantastic talented craftsman here on RCG and throughly enjoy sharing the experiences and helping others where I can as well as learning new ideas from others....Continue Reading
