Well...I finally got about 90% of my group photos gathered together and ready to post. Hence...let my first blog entry begin.

For those of you who may not be familiar with our situation, I will try and give you a quick snap shop so we can get on to the build itself. I am a fifth grade school teacher and for the past four years, I have worked with hundreds of students (ages 5-14), introducing them to various categories of modeling including Estes rockets, AMA Delta Darts, Guillows gliders and rubber-band powered aircraft, tons of two-channel, radio-controlled aircraft (Air Hogs, PalmZs, Pilotos, Avions etc.) I have worked with students both during class time (through science and collaboration connections), during after school hours, and on Saturdays (using our school gym.) Finally, at the end of last year (and through the gracious help of many, many R/C Group forum members) we had put in place enough funds/pieces/parts to build EIGHT 100% RTF Electrifly Flylites! I decided on the Flylites because none of the twenty-one students who would be participating in this group build had ever built anything before. I also knew that the Flylite would give us a chance to focus a lot on all components of the build...and not just spend time building the physical aircraft.
