Yup, I'm gonna build one. I love the way they look and there is a ton of info here on RCG. Its a work in progress, but I hope to have it built sometime next week.
I'm not 100 percent on what Im going to use, so Im just kind of shooting from what I see and hear at RCG. Im still a big Emax fan, so I'm pretty sure these will be the motors I go with.
Just a little thing I finally threw together. Its winter in Maine, and the temps are freezing. So After sitting around almost all day. I finally remembered I have a F330 frame sitting in a box in my basement :P

I miss my 1st M450 Quad, but realized I had to move one...lol So I built a quad with what I had around. 2 Black DJI arms, 2 Red HH arms (the good quality ones, but by no means DJI quality.) 1 DJI Flamewheel lower board, 1 HJ?? not sure top board. 4 Emax 2213, 4 Hobbywing 20a esc's, 1 KK2.0, 1 Devo RX701....And Wha La!
Flies pretty fricking well to
I picked up this landing skid a couple of weeks ago from Banggood. I have to say that I am surprised how well it is built for only 13 bucks shipped to the USA. It came with no instructions, but hey most of us guys dont need em anyways Once it's installed it really is very sturdy. The materials are strong quality fiberglass. And it come with all that is shown at Banggood. Im likely going to pick up the battery tray on Ebay for this. I did take it out today for a few quick flights to see how the quad handled. It was like the skids were not even there. So if your looking for a good low cost skid and you plan on adding an Aerial Pan Tilt. This will do the trick. Heck, even if you don't use a Aerial Pan Tilt. It looks pretty cool and you can land on the lawn without worries ...Continue Reading
I was going through some old stuff in my basement today. And why not, its a rainy cool day here in Maine :P But I came across some old Star Wars stuff and even older rc airplane stuff. Nothing usable, just some old worn parts. Then I came across an old Hanger 9 Twist 40 windshield piece. It is as long as my Alien quad so I thought...hmmm. A little nip, tuck and heat treatment and this is what I came up with. IDK if it's functional yet, but its on solid and can be removed quickly if I ever needed to. ...Continue Reading
I feel I have the Quadcopter pretty well handled. So Im going to the next level with a Hexacopter.
Im going to use:
DJI F550 Flamewheel Boards.
Emax 2213 Motors (I love these motors)
Hobbywing Skywalker 20a esc`s
RX107 Devo rx
I hope to move the rx and tx up soon. Im liking the Turnigy X9. I will post pics when I finish the build
After this build I might start trying some FPV stuff.
After weeks of waiting for the parts. I finally have my 1st build completed. I hovered it in my living room for a min to make sure it would ....well hover. Now its time to take it outside. I'm using the KK2.0 w 1.5 firmware. Studied the KK2.0 like crazy and I'm feeling good about taking it outside today. If the rain hold off ...Continue Reading
Picked this up here at RCG! If it goes big, I have a collectible http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1878208
If I had to review it, I would say its awesome for the price. Strong, and not shabby. This is a 3D print and you have to think "practicality over vanity." Its very much in the beginning phases and I'm sure will take off. When is the last time you whacked your KK2.0 board with a screw driver? Well I did a few times and I didn't flinch. OK the 1st time, but not after that. Cant wait to see where this product goes next.
Yeah I thought I had balanced all my props before I even put them with my quad kit. But noooooooooo...lol I went out today with my fresh blades and it just wobbled around, and found it hard to control. So I played with the gains and all that. Nothing changed. So for the frack of it I decided to check my balance on the blades. CW...check...CCW...uh oh...WTH?? I guess I missed a pair. Balanced them out and smooth flying.
