It's been a while since I last created some color schemes... this time I got some help from my son as we both collaborated on these color schemes for Tail Dragger RC and RC Gadgetz new Edge 540.

Moved some models around to fit my 600,500 and 450 helis, even the F450 quad found a staging area on the wall. Looking pretty crowded but they are off the floor so that's good.

This is my latest color scheme design just out of production from AeroPlusRC for their EDGE 540 V3 35CC I had originally done the scheme for the Slick 540 but it got used on the Edge 540 V3.

Really enjoying flying my T-Rex 600!!! flew her today at a new place right across the street from the Starlight Bowl in Burbank CA. near work... there are some heli pads at the top of the hill, if it works for full scale helis it will work for my 600

these are the second and third color schemes that I've designed and that are going to production soon, the first was for the 91" Yak 54 from Extreme Flight and these two are for AeroPlusRC's Slick 540 coming up soon.

This just in the Pre-production prototype 91” Yak 54 from Extreme Flight RC with my winning color scheme entry from the color scheme contest held back in July 2012. Currently this fine bird is in it’s final stages before approval for production... keep an eye out for it at www.extremeflightrc.com

See Robert's cool color scheme design here as his design also was chosen as the winner: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...43&postcount=1

Just flew 3 packs this morning on my MXS maiden, what a great flying plane. Robert and I won the Extreme Flight 91" Yak 54 color scheme contest, the price was the 91" airframe with our scheme design held back in July (The 91" Yak with our designs is due out late Jan early Feb 2013 @ www.extremeflightrc.com) see Robert's cool color scheme design here: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...43&postcount=1

I opted to go with the 64" MXS in favor of having a fully loaded model, Chris hooked me up with everything needed to fly (minus TX,RX and lipos) Thanks Chris!!

So when I originally got the Alula my intention was to get out to the slopes... well that hasn’t happened much so this gem was just sitting around collecting dust. The most flight time I could get out of her in the flat lands was about 40 sec at a time... that is till I slapped on an electric motor and that all changed! now depending on wind conditions I've kept her flying for 20+ minutes at a time. I now fly her 2-3 times a week and is ready to go in the trunk of my car.

I normally don’t fly her crazy like this but wanted to show her speed and maneuverability... clearly I need to program some expo if I want to keep flying her low and fast. What I usually do is take her up to altitude about to 300 - 400+ feet with a 40 sec. WOT burst and cut the throttle/glide around for thermals. The 3s 300 gets me 3:30 of throttle time (WOT... a bit longer if I manage) My DX8 allows me to stop the timer when the throttle stick goes bellow 25% and back on when it goes above 25% allowing me to keep a pretty accurate throttle management time, lipos come down at 3.75v each.

NOTE: You will get better performace if the motor thrust angle is as centered as possible to the fuse as the nose will tend to go up dramatically when throttle is applied otherwise. I recommend trimming the Alula prior to making this mod. After the mod, ensure you have the proper CG and with motor thrust angle centered some throttle to elevator mixing (see post #7) will help keep the Alula track straight and...Continue Reading

So I was cleaning out some things in the garage and found some of my old USMC photos I though Id share. If I remember correctly these where during CAX at 29 Palms 1997 (CH-46 shots) and 1999 (CH-53 Super Stallion)

What an experience it was to ride in these two machines.... by far the CH-53 Super Stallion was the best, what a smooth flying machine this is (it's like riding in a Cadillac) and for it's size, it's surprisingly maneuverable!! I got a chance to participate in various exercises involving the Super Stallion though only have pics of this one with the USMC Landing Support Company and the 24th MEU.

Here is a cool video to give you a small glimpse of the LSC (Landing Support Company) in action during part of a training op.

Hi folks, so I'd like to offer my services to you should your research (google search, this forum etc.) not bring you across a usable graphic file for your project. I am pretty handy with imaging software and could help you duplicate a hard to find graphic or create a custom one for your project at a small fee depending on the complexity of the art, you will get a high resolution file that you can use to print model decals from. Please feel free to PM me and we can go from there.

Here is a sample graphic I created for rcgeorge29, in this case this reference shot was all he had to reproduce the logo.
