Eflite 80mm fan was fun....

then changed to Xfly 80mm and WOW!!! But it went boom....

Changed to FMS 2100kv motor and rotor inside the xfly housing... PERFECTION!!!

Since the stock motor in the F-35 is 29mm, I figured that the 32mm FMS 2000kv motor wouldn't be all that much of a difference in weight but a big increase in thrust! Looks like I was right! The plane is a blast to fly! Much more grunt with weight and flight times nearly identical to stock! it is still a work in progress but a huge success thus far! take a look...

This is what I did to help keep the servo connection in place on this plane. It has worked really well thus far and now I am not worried about adding the new Platinum FMS 80mm 2100kv set up. take a look and hope it helps!

I finally got my hands on an F-35!! Here is the maiden and a couple pix of the new LED afterburner set up installed....

A couple flights with my Eflite 80mm F-4... one with badly balanced fan and then the others with the fan balanced at the field. I still think it could be a little better but this will do for now...turned out that the adapter was loose on the shaft and would make a horrible racket. once that was fixed and loctited things worked great! I think that it can get better with some more tlc though...

I made some changes to this bird after its initial 2 flights. While it flew amazing with the stock set up, there was a lot of buzzing coming from the fan. Once I got it out of the plane it made sense why. The screw that holds the rotor in place was loose..... NOT GOOD!! Its ok though because I already had plans to replace it anyway. I have had an FMS 2100kv set up sitting for a while waiting for a good home. The light weight of this plane would be a great fit!!! So after some balancing of the fan, it was put into the bird. I also fitted my afterburner set up and am pretty impressed with how it came out! I got some flights over the weekend and it blew me away with a vertical climb up and almost out of site right from take off!! Here are some pix I got and will post the videos once they upload...
