I have decided to post a few pictures of my Pilatus Porter that many of you may have seen at this years E-Fest event.
I designed, built, and painted the model myself. However, my father helped complete the build by designing the fully-functional landing gear as I was pressed for time with school work.
The model is based off of 3-views from the full scale model with a few changes that were made to lower the wing loading. The model has a 55.0" wing span and a RTF weight of only 14 oz. The motor used was the Axi 2208-34 EVP system. The model does utilize variable pitch; the VP system is the Axi unit that is available from Hobby Lobby. The reason I opted to use a VP system on this type of a model was for scale landings. Being that the full-scale model is a "short take-off and landing" aircraft, the model should be as well. Lastly, the servos used were the Futaba 3110s (5) and a 146 6-channel PCM receiver (also from Futaba).
Enjoy the pics!
