One of my friends called this a "Leaf Jet" because it falls like an autumn leaf. It's a really quick build, using Lowe's 1/2" blue insulating foam (Dow).

This little thing is fun and extremely fast!

This thing is more fun than I ever could have imagined!!
It's got a HeadsUpRC 1100kv motor, Orange rx, 40A ESC and just two servos, yet it flies like a dream... and glides too!

I crashed it withing seconds of its first flight, but here's the "2nd Maiden Flight" -- if that term can hold any water.

Fred is in his 80s and always takes an interest in my planes. He has a heavy accent and I knew he was European, but wasn't sure what nationality.

But today I told Fred I really wanted a Focke-Wulf 190. He said, "Koom and luke at vut I haff!"

Fred pulled out a beautiful GuanLi FW190 from Nitroplanes.

I was amazed! "Oh man, I love that plane! I can't believe you have one!"
Fred smiled and said, "Why shouldn't I? I flew one!"

Fred was a pilot in the Luftwaffe! Not only that, but he was decorated by Herman Goering! AND he flew an ME109 Messerschmitt and an ME262 jet as well!

Well, Fred is now my newest hero. He was a decorated ace in WWII and flew the first-ever jet created for war.

My DX6i went for sevral months with a faulty board that caused it to brwon out and lose signal at 300+ feet.

This was extremely distressing to me, as I crashed plane after plane and always thought it was my fault. I've only been flying planes since March of this year and so I thought the DX6i was infallible. I was wrong.

After I'd flown my Airfield Sky Trainer Cessna 182 on the Airfield tx and rx a few dozen times, I decided to switch it over to Spektrum control.

On my first flight, the Cessna crashed BAD @ 300 feet away. Now I was positive it wasn't me or all the assorted rx's I had purchased.

I sent the DX6i back to Horizon Hobby, who promptly repaired it, finding several issues.

Now I am flying my planes with a little D/R and Expo and it is like I am a new RC pilot again!

Thanks to HH for fixing the DX6i. Now need to dig out the planes I've destroyed and let them fly again!

Someone asked me to post my planes, so I guess I can do that.

But first, let me share why every one of these planes will never be sold.
It's quite easy; I have hurt every one of them - badly. Nobody will pay anything worthwhile for my planes. As I write this I am in week #8 of this hobby and all of these planes have suffered the dumb thumb flops of the disorientated n00b. They have always battled back to fly again, but due to their scars, they will never be pleasing to anyone else's eyes -- but mine.

My first plane was my best plane: The Hobbyzone Champ.
This plane is a wonder - a trainer with a capital "T." Anyone who has learned on a Champ - or even experienced pilots who fly one - loves this little plane.

In my little corner of the Universe, my planes are planes. But my Champ is alive. It knows what I expect from it and it gets PO'd at me for neglecting or abusing it.
Am I crazy?
Well, maybe a little, but suffice to say that I am far from the only person to have stated this here at RCGroups. There are many...many...of us who believe that our Champs are special.

Have you ever seen a guy talk to his car? I used to talk to my 1968 GTO, my '70 Olds 442, my '75 Trans Am and years later, my 1972 GTO.

Why is the Champ any different than a muscle car in this respect? If you care for and baby a muscle car, it responds favorably. The same goes for the Champ.
