The 42" SOS has a fiberglass fuse and canopy hatch.
the wing is obeche wood covered and with a........... rg 14 thin wing
it is very fast high performance
The canopy hatch needs a little fine sanding for final fit.. but could be left as is .

i might give the fuse another coat of white paint, to make it smooth as can be .?

i might sell it ......i really don't want to sell ........soooooo if interested hit me up PM....ME

this will be electric sweet stick with span of 48" to 50"
trying to make my mind up
if its going to be a high wing with trike landing gear
or a low wing with trike landing gear
the manual says it can be of your choice.
this one will be yellow and white with German black cross.

if low wing the landing gear will have to go in the wing
if high wing landing gear will go in fuselage.

removed granny Fräulein out of Messerschmitt Me 109 G-2
this is a vintage jemco at 52" wing span
she just didnt look right
so when i get a chance i will redo cock pit area

granny has been removed
to small any ways
will put in a scale pilot
and make a box for cock pit area.

also the wing is balsa sheet d foam core
and built up balsa fuse.

for those who are wondering it needs a 3" nose spinner
and it is or will be electric
never has a motor mounted
it has a big hatch for mounting a motor and to put in lipo.

the left wing was broken and has been repaired and covered with white and red monocoat
the rudder is not glued down
also the elevator is broken in half.... right under the rudder
will have to remove rudder to get to the elevator .

i wonder/wonder what the wanderer would look like as a v-tail
........................naaaaa just keep it original...........................

next will be uncovering the elevator to see the damage

okay so it came apart at were it was glued together.

will start with gluing together with ca glue
then epoxy elevator down let dry..
so now we epoxy the rudder back on and supported to get it straight
let dry ..

just a little touch up with monocoat and were done .

the faster i can crank out repair jobs the faster i can move on to next project

the vintage sailplane has a wing span of 1.8 m
it has been a hanger queen for some time now.
time to bring it out and get started on it.

it still needs servos and maybe add ailerons and spoilers......
at moment it has rudder/elevator
the wings have dihedral to help turning............

looks like, i am in for a lot of mods

the passer was set up with rudder and elevator and ailerons ...thats okay but look at the giant rudder........
i took the rudder off and cut the elevator in half.
i epoxied it in to v-tail groove in fuse and reconnected the push rods back in to the original holes......
now it is restored back to its original glory
i like the v-tail in all white....... the wings you can see really good in air
but the wings would look better in all white. just my thoughts .

just need to maiden it... well looks like i wont maiden it

it is being picked up now ....... my friend really likes it ......

i scratch built a 3-d profile for indoors and out, its made of dollar tree foam.....
i had some old kite parts for the landing gear..... enough parts for 3 planes or more...all moving surfaces have carbon rods 1 mm for strength.
the wing span is 24" but man is it lite......so far.

this is were i am at with the air frame..... here is a pic .
i think i will make 3 of them
i could make a bi plane ....
soon i will paint it ..
................i got the bug for scratch building................
i got a little more done.... going slow due to other projects.

the f-16 needed a paint job, so i thought i would try a free hand with paint sprayer...this is apple barrel water base paint from walwart......its my first time . no pattern as a guide.....didn't like clean lines ....
to bad the landing gear isn't retracts..... but don't have to belly it in ....

i built the wind free when i was 17 years old and i do miss those days
that was 39 years ago....
i printed out some plans and the wing will be a total of 66-1/2"....."include width of fuse..total 68".... wow a mini wind free "
the fuse and rudder will be a total length of 30"

iyll have to print it out again to the max print size...
i printed it out at 25 sheets and the wing span is 84" include the fuse width is 86"
the fuse length including rudder is 37" .... ahhhh well itll be scratch built...unless i get the kit then it will be 99.25.......

THX to a good friend here on rc groups.... i was given full size plans

the plans are 8 pages and taped together for the 40" version wing span....
unless you scale it up to 80" and will be 16 pages .

update.....
i started building the fuse it will be a little wider in the front and i put balsa triangles behind the nose cone near the battery compartment ...
i didnt have much time to work on it....was at fiesta island most of the day ,with the wife and dog............

the elevator length didnt look right so i shortened it by 2"

here is were i am at with the climax wing..i sheeted the foam core wing with balsa wood and let dry.
with this cold weather it took, a day and a half to dry
update i added the hard wood spruce to leading edge and epoxy,d 3 parts of the wing together .....1 more wing tip to go .
all the 4 panels are joined together.
another job i did and finished at that ..........................

Well to start of, i am scratch building a 6' and 1-1/2" fuse, for oranator....
the wing is already built at 15 feet....lets put the wing aside for now.

i started out glueing 2- 36" by 1/8" by 3" sheets together for the sides of the fuse...the cut is at a angle for strength...
i made 2 sides left and a right "duh" dont mind me.
then i added 1/4" by 3/8"strengtheners to each side of the fuse total 4 of them for the lenght of the fuse.
while the 2 sides dry, i started cuting out 8 of the 1/4" by 3/8 braces that will join the 2 sides together, total braces 16..... for the front i used aircraft ply.
heigth is 3 inchs and tappers down at the tail at 2" the front tappers at a nice curve to the nose....will have to cut out some block wood for the nose.
i started sheeting the middle of the fuse just behing were the wing saddle is and sheeting the under side from the nose back, i need to leave areas open to work on.
i cant think, i had a few drinks with the wife
soon i will cut out about 5 fuse walls were the control rods will pass thru, thats why i am leaving areas open.

well thats it for now....... need to take a break and get somthin to eat .
.......................well she had steak ready and baked potato also vegeee's
she wanted me to take a long break as it was 2 am.

well i finally finished sheeting the bottom and the top and moved on to cutting out the canopy.
it looks like a stuffed oreo cookie ,.....but its...Continue Reading

the easy glider pro nose from the back of the canopy to the front of the nose was broken into 6 pieces.
i started epoxying each piece 1 by 1 until i had it back together then i used light weight spackle to fill in the dints and holes until it was looking some what good.
then once the spackle was dry i sanded down until smooth.

i used epp foam to make a new nose cone and sanded down....i guess the nose looks alright.
the canopy was painted black to give it a new look and the fuse got a few coats of yellow water base paint.
the easy glider pro will fly again, will have pics shortly....welllll tommorow...........i am to tired from all the projects i am doing .

cr excel
the right wing was broken in half including the right aileron
and the whole wing broke in half right down the middle were you join the left and right wing together, not a perfect break but was epoxy,d back together and new fiber glass tape to strengthen the area.

well now, the right wing i uncovered the balsa in the area were it was broken from the inner part of the aileron and broke at a angle towards the fuse.
i started by epoxying the foam right wing back together ,,,let dry
the i cut out some balsa sheets at a angle were the balsa was totaly destroyed and the leading edge was repaired with a strip of air craft ply.

i put a thin layer of epoxy on the foam right wing were it was broken and placed the balsa sheeting on top and bottom of wing top angled left and the back of wing to the right, it gives it more strength that way.....and replaced a few cap strip's.

well the aileron was epoxy,d back together trying to let it dry on a flat surface

i found some scrap white monocoat pieces and recovered from the decal excel, to the right end of the wing .
ohhhhh hooo and some fluroesent solar coat.

maybe iyll get a chance to see if the wing holds up to my repair job.
it is very strong now ....................
