Finally changed my avator picture--our cat died last year, and I have no interest in balsa these days.

Balsa kits seemed like the cutting edge of the electric hobby 5 years ago--you could get the weight down and create the best performing RC models available. Now, foam ARFS seem to be where the exciting innovation is. Each month new levels of quality arrive, and prices are tumbling. (while balsa kits have almost doubled in price).

It's an exciting time to be in the hobby. With a 3.5 year old boy to chase, time and budget are limited, but it's really fun to follow the new planes coming out and once in a while get out flying.
