Saturday was brutal. The summer has arrived. Temps were in the 90's, the wind was very light and seemed to circle all points of the compass.
Obviously it was electrics or winching. I myself, stayed under the popup tent and took pictures, never pulled my TD plane out of the car.

Saturday was truly great. 20-30mph into the NE Bowl. We brought out plenty of "heavy iron". Truly a good day!

Was a rockin Saturday, with a steady 18-20 mph East wind with gusts to 30 mph (verified with a wind gauge) Sloping was great, but it was pretty turbulent anywhere near the slope face. Obviously we had a good sized crowd (whenever there’s good winds) and there were lots of smiling faces.

PS Thanks for the additional photos Amos!...Continue Reading

No blog from today. I was at the Florida Soaring Society TD/ALES contest in Ocala for Saturday and Sunday. I did make a report, with plenty of pictures on the contest forum. Here's the link to the pictures and report:

Another calm Saturday. Worse, the wind shifted from West to East over of the course of the day. We flew the NE bowl and from noon to 2pm it was probably the best place to fly from. We did get a few strong thermals rolling through, but unless you had a motor, flights were very brief.
