It's finally here! Downloadable pdf plans in .zip format for the 25mm EDF BAE Hawk designed by NitroCharged. This model has a 12" wingspan and can be flown on 2 or 3S. Rxer used is an AR6400 with mixing in a Spectrum DX7 Transmitter to allow taileron control via the rudder and elevator servo's on the board although any micro R/C system can be used. 2mm depron is recommended for the build.

Well, I'm pretty sure PZ has done a UM Habu and we just have to wait for it to be released. I couldn't be bothered waiting so I'm going to go ahead and make one. I think I have just the right little 30mm EDF here for the job. It should be able to fit both a 35mm and 40mm too. I am going with a wingspan of 15".

I've just about finished doing up my own set of plans and have already finished the artwork which will be paper slide decals as they worked so well on the 25mm Micro Hawk (they almost look painted on the depron). Even the Habu logo was begging for the 32 to be changed to a 30 to reflect the EDF size!

I am so happy to have finally got back to working on my Micro Hawk projects. It's been a year already since I last posted anything on V3 and here we are on V4 after stripping down V3 for desperately needed parts.

I have just completed it and have yet to maiden. I sleeked this latest one out slightly as an experiment in drag changes. I lowered the turtle deck height which followed forward with a lower canopy. There's another change too - it's a 25mm EDF, 12" version!

Theres seemed to be good interest in a Micro A7 Corsair but I thought a 30mm EDF version would be good too. Unfortunately, none are available or will be so I made my own.
It is made from 2mm depron using the popular box style of construction for simple building. The motor is a 30mm Nitrocharged Pulse unit on 2S for the maiden run.

I've had this sitting on the shelf since early February waiting for a nice morning to maiden it. That day finally came this weekend! Here is the maiden video.

I have attached the plan I drew and used to make it here. I used a tailpipe down to 85% out the back end. 3x1mm CF rods for the wing reinforcing. TLAR anhedral and dihedral on the wings and tail. I smeared epoxy on the inside and outisde of the groper mouth to strengthen it for those belly landings. 2 x 5g servo's set up as dual aileron/taileron control. At least some bulding skill is required to make this.

Enjoy!

Since I started this hobby, I really went nuts always buying 2 of everything, sometimes 3 and that extra stuff has been sitting around doing nothing so it's time to move it on. I set up an online store as there were so many little bits and pieces for a dollar or so each it isn't worth listing individually or trying to ebay them.
You can check out the store here: http://www.nitrocharged.com/hobbybox/index.php

Hope you find something you can use in there!

I have been having a great time building a 14" wingspan BAE Hawk as my current project. It has been fitted with micro servo's (3.7g type), stripped down ESC and a lightened 36Mhz - 4ch Rxer. Lipo is a Hyperion 300mah 20C 2 cell which really gives the motor all it needs. Depron is 1.67mm stuff I have had for a while now. The 30mm Ducted Fan Unit is driven by a test motor so no final specs on that yet other than it's a 10mm inrunner.
Tests so far have had me do a fair few little changes or tweaks and a fair few repairs too! It seemed to think it was a lawn dart during the first few test flights.

It was the first time I got around to making a canopy plug and form a plastic canopy, so another fun bridge crossed.

Final test flights have been postponed due to wet and windy weather.

I am also half way though constructing a pusher prop version (which means I finally get to put my 4g brushless homebrew motor on something interesting) so I can have an indoors version too.

Here is the completed EDF30 BAE Hawk model minus its insignia's which are yet to be applied and some other shots:
