I recently got this interesting product

And I find it very easy to use, and it does the job without any single problem

I did also find out how to "hack" the eeprom data in it ... so I could improve the RTH speed from 5m/sec to 10m/sec (from almost 20km/h to almost 40km/h) ... and now it does come back "home" quite fast

As well .. I did disabled the max altitude, from 250m to unlimited high

Very impressive with video and radio link range ... well over 300m .. so very usable for basic FPV

Hubsan H501S Quadcopter with FPV & GPS. Quick Review and OnBoard video PiP (10 min 46 sec)

PS: Attached is the modified firmware, it is needed to downgrade the firmware (included is 1.1.11) before re-update with 1.1.17, else the eprom data are not transfer to the copter ... the credit of firmware hacking goes to the RCG user : "Xanderzt" ... he did discover how to access eeprom data in this copter

Hi guys

I know that here it is rare to have to record a "digital" video signal in the RC world ... but ... who knows ... for record some FPV via WiFi ... or record a life experience using the Parrot Bebop ... having a little cheap "box" capable to record the HDMI video in HD ... it is very nice

(I know that some Tablet allow to make a video recording of what it is displayed on screen ... but my experience is that it need Rooted Android .. and lot of try/error and millions of failures ... plus ... the Tablet is twice loaded)

I was googling around, and I discover that such a box .. since few months ago was costing many hundreds of USD ... but ... now in the total silence of eBay .. it can be found for just over 50$ shipped from china

Here is what I got HDMI HD HDD USB TV DVD Blu-ray Recorder Game Video Capture Box For PS4 XBOX Wii

I was ready for getting a classing junk from china ... but this is really a well done product

Super easy to use ... just plug the cables, powers and USB memory ... and it is ready to go ... just one click on the only button ... and it will start to record

In my test it does take both 720p and 1080 without any problems

It also offer a MIC in ... for allow to add voice into the video (original HDMI audio is stored anyhow .. the two sources are mixed)

Here is a video made with this BOX ... from a 720p Tablet ... which I then edit (trim only) using Windows Movie Maker

This is also the first video of my little kid ... which after using YouTube as watcher ... decided he does want to make his own videos too

AGM Nighthawk250 - Combo Quadcopter - Quick Review and OnBoad PiP video (11 min 6 sec)

Quick review of the AGM Nighthawk 250 ... which is looking more a re-brand EMAX 250 Nigthawk.

All the components provide are in excellent quality ... very light: only 327g (minus battery and FPV gears, but 327 for frame+motor+esc+FC+RX is quite a nice result)

I still have to learn the CC3D ... so far my initial impression on CC3D is not too good ... but maybe using it ... I may get more happy about it

About AGM it is looking a new player in the RC online shop ... which very nicely has the warehouse in the critical places (at least for my EU point of view) : Germany, UK and USA

Mainly there not many online show with warehouse on continental europe ... AGM is looking to have very interesting price too.

Anyhow ... it is a very interesting frame ... nothing advanced ... but ... a high quality for decent price ... using mature elements:
12A BLheli Simon ESC
2204 motor (CW & CCW which is a nice way to avoid fly away prop)
6x3 carbon prop
Light carbon frame
Anti vibration camera mount
etc

Here are my first impression of the new NIHUI U807 quadcopter

It is almost 1:1 compatible with V686G , mainly it can use the V686G FPV module and get controller directly by U807 copter and U807 transmitter

Performance wise, it is a bit lighter and does feel with more power and more precise control compared to V686G

NIHUI U807 - RTF drone with on board HD camera. Maiden & Outdoor Fly (Courtesy GearBest) (9 min 42 sec)

Price wise, it is looking very attractive too:
The coupon code for U807 with camera is "NYU807" and the price will be $58.99 (http://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopters/pp_147485.html)
The coupon code for U807 without camera is "U807NC" and the price will be $45.99 (http://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopters/pp_147483.html)

Here is my review of the JJRC H6C micro quadcopter.

It is amazing how much things have been provided inside 40$ shipped box.

Unfortunately there are couple of weak points, like FoV and too much facing down camera.

Possibly with a lens mod it can become a perfect copter ... but .. they could have invest 9$ more, and put a wider lens ... still for less then 50$ a decent 720p micro quadcopter would be still good priced ... but in china they don't like to spend on decent lens (at least for now)

Got this Bebop from the Lufthansa WorldShop ... with a nice "discount" in exchange of my air miles ... shipping was fast (less then 1 week for get at my door), so thumbs up for Lufthansa WorldShop

In short ... it is a mix feeling product ... something is excellent and unique ... and something is "questionable" ...
Anyhow ... all in all ... I think I like it ... and it has tremendous potential with firmware update and even with custom firmware ... but maybe it is still not a fully mature product at this stage

Here is my First Impression ...

I was looking since while for a cheap RTF "toy" FPV copter.

The arena has been open up by the great Hubsan H107D ... still the price was not 100% right for me, and still it was not having an onboard recording (only a DVR integrated on monitor, which is a nice feature, but still make a low quality video)

Recently multiple "toy" FPV copters did pop up in the market, but none was looking at the end good enough for my taste : like JJRC H9D or SKY Hawkeye HM1315 or Cheerson CX30 ... which fail for me, due to the 2.4G digital video transmission

WLtoys was having already V666 which is looking good, but I did not like the copter shape and as well it was a bit "expensive" (still very cheap for what it does)

Here is my review of WLtoys V686G, yes it is not perfect, yes the video quality can't be compared to Mobius or SJ4000 (GoPro is on a different planet ) ... but for the price it has lot of value ... so .. a product with a thumb up from my side this V686G

The Cheerson CX-30W is a cheap micro WIFI quadcopter ... it cost less then 50$ shipped.

But it is a total disaster.

WIFI both for VIDEO and RC is terrible
FPV over WIFI is impossible ... low FPS and almost 1 second of video delay.

Using over standard 2.4G TX ... range is very poor, both with SH6043 TX and even worst with Cheerson CX-30 TX ... only 20m with Cheerson TX ... 30m range with SH6043

All in all .. it is a cheap micro copter ... but a waste of money

Here is the video "proof"

Cheerson CX-30 WIFI - Quick Review and Outdoor fly with PiP onboard video (11 min 21 sec)

PS: After CX-10, now CX-30W ... two bad products from Cheerson ... what is strange is that Cheerson is looking to have a decent reputation here on RCG ...

PPS: For make a decent on board video, I did add: "Hubsan X4 H107C RC Quadcopter Spare Parts Camera Module 2MP" ... this is a nice little cam, even if it is MJPEG video quality is decent ... possibly the best cam for micro copter ... but it has not AV Video out ... so ... not expandable to FPV ... 25$ for this cam alone is also a bit "expensive" ... in theory JJRC H8C cost 10$ less and has 720p ... but I did not want to "gamble"

It is quite a while since I had the for SJ1000, at the time SJCAM was not even advertising neither their brand nor their model name ... still ... TECHMOAN discover this little action cam ... the first sub 100$ 1080P 30fps H264 with great video. That was over 1 year ago ... and I was lucky to be the first to put the SJ1000 on the air short after I fix the jello issues and this SJ1000 was making really nice videos : jello free video here

Short after we had Mobius, and this has been since then the best camera to put on an RC bird, at least the best for the price. Mobius did put on shame the Boscam HD19, and as well for RC usage Mobius was better then SJ1000

Clearly GoPro was always, and still it is on his own league ... with the best quality, and the most featured (they have WIFI support since "ages") ... but it come at price.

I recently got the SJ4000 WIFI, the original model from SJCAM (since day one there has been clones of SJ action cam ) ... and finally ... I think the "reign" of Mobius is over ... or at least is weaker ... finally a new cheap action cam is doing better video and has more functions too.

GoPro for factor is a good plus for my book .. since it allows to use all the RC gimbal and camera mounts available ... WIFI and LCD is a nice to have, but nothing really needed for RC usage ... mainly the video quality: sharp picture and accurate colors ... is what make this SJ4000 wifi better then Mobius

Here is the prove of it

Note: Only 86$ shipped from GearBest.Com : http://www.gearbest.com/action-cameras/pp_81588.html , using the discount CODE: SJCAMRX ... this is an incredible price .. possibly the best on the net

Hi,

Time ago I did find this interesting camera on BangGood ... at least it was looking interesting

http://www.banggood.com/WLtoys-1080P...-p-943813.html

42$ shipped - 5% discount (bestBG / goodBG) ... so 40$ for a shipped full HD cam, was looking interesing

I was hoping to find the Mobius RC CAM format with G1W quality ... a very good mix, Novatek chips on G1W and Mobius does the same 1080P30 and 720P60 and both have Video out too ... a feature that was looking available from the included connector.

Instead of Novatek good encoder chip, WLtoys decide to put a dummy CPU that does only bits moving, from JPEG data from the CMOS sensor module back to the microSD .... very dummy indeed to have 720p60fps and MJPEG ... they could have used 720P30fps and higher quality instead ... anyhow.

This camera is a failure under all the possible aspects ... so ... let say ... my lost ... is your win ... so you may avoid to buy a junky camera.

Tchuss

e_lm_70

PS: For budget, in the RC world, the best cam are still Mobius and TOPCAM ... DIY people may modify G1W for fit into a RC bird too.

Hi,

Since I got this JD-392 and it is a very nice kids grade aerial video quadcopter ... I decided to make a mini review ... with my "classic" garden outdoor fly

I think this cheap RTF is a perfect Xmas gift ... and in BNF mode is a perfect self gift for DIY v2x2 or for who has already a v2x2 TX
