the fuse and rudder will be a total length of 30"

iyll have to print it out again to the max print size...
i printed it out at 25 sheets and the wing span is 84" include the fuse width is 86"
the fuse length including rudder is 37" .... ahhhh well itll be scratch built...unless i get the kit then it will be 99.25.......

i started building the fuse it will be a little wider in the front and i put balsa triangles behind the nose cone near the battery compartment ...
i didnt have much time to work on it....was at fiesta island most of the day ,with the wife and dog............

Well to start of, i am scratch building a 6' and 1-1/2" fuse, for oranator....
the wing is already built at 15 feet....lets put the wing aside for now.

i started out glueing 2- 36" by 1/8" by 3" sheets together for the sides of the fuse...the cut is at a angle for strength...
i made 2 sides left and a right "duh" dont mind me.
then i added 1/4" by 3/8"strengtheners to each side of the fuse total 4 of them for the lenght of the fuse.
while the 2 sides dry, i started cuting out 8 of the 1/4" by 3/8 braces that will join the 2 sides together, total braces 16..... for the front i used aircraft ply.
heigth is 3 inchs and tappers down at the tail at 2" the front tappers at a nice curve to the nose....will have to cut out some block wood for the nose.
i started sheeting the middle of the fuse just behing were the wing saddle is and sheeting the under side from the nose back, i need to leave areas open to work on.
i cant think, i had a few drinks with the wife
soon i will cut out about 5 fuse walls were the control rods will pass thru, thats why i am leaving areas open.

well thats it for now....... need to take a break and get somthin to eat .
.......................well she had steak ready and baked potato also vegeee's
she wanted me to take a long break as it was 2 am.

well i finally finished sheeting the bottom and the top and moved on to cutting out the canopy.
it looks like a stuffed oreo cookie ,.....but its...Continue Reading

the easy glider pro nose from the back of the canopy to the front of the nose was broken into 6 pieces.
i started epoxying each piece 1 by 1 until i had it back together then i used light weight spackle to fill in the dints and holes until it was looking some what good.
then once the spackle was dry i sanded down until smooth.

i used epp foam to make a new nose cone and sanded down....i guess the nose looks alright.
the canopy was painted black to give it a new look and the fuse got a few coats of yellow water base paint.
the easy glider pro will fly again, will have pics shortly....welllll tommorow...........i am to tired from all the projects i am doing .

well i thought i would post a pic of the corsair with silk span and wbpu.... the fuse is covered and also the elev/rud..... turned out rather nice with brush on paint....time to finish up the wing ...... ....i am way behind in all my builds....

i found that the silk span sticks better if you first do the whole fuse with wbpu ...let dry and then start to cover with more wbpu and silk span and sand between coats ...... total of 5 coats and she is real smooth......i found that total strength is lets say over night even thou the night before the parts that were covered still you could twist them or still a little soft .........so let the wbpu cure over night ......

the pss mustang is being built for Eddie c ..one of the posse members......the mustang-b has a 45" wing........ with bass wood leading edge and foam sheeted wing........ the epp fuze was hand shapped by dan and wing was also bagged ....so its custom. and has a carbon rod thru the fuze the elevator control rod goes thru the carbon tube .....it has a balsa elevator and the rudder has carbon fiber cloth leading edge wraped ......yaaaa it coming along real nice ...... up date soon and pics .... well so far i have filled in holes and imperfections with light weight spackel on the fuze .... did i say the wing is removable by meens of 2 nylon bolts ....

i havent posted a update or even a pic
so here is a pic and it still needs a metal control horn soldered on a u shaped piano wire for elevator ...
thats what slowing me down from finishing it ........... be sides primer filler and the final paint job.....

the bird of time is 118" and is all wood, it has been thru many hands and was in many bad landings and a few crashes.....the bird of time is very strong considering its wood ......the fuze is in one piece as i uncovered it and litely sanded down to be recovered .....most of the damage was in the diehedral brace and was an easy fix on the right side.... the elevator was broken on the right side ....... the bird of time need some new balsa skin on the wing .........i wont recover the wing with monocoat totaly till i know it will fly again ...so it will be patched up ....well thats it for now and will post a few pics shortly ......... update and monocoat to follow ........

kestrel plans was designed for a single channel...: now thats old school
when i build it ...it will have 3 servos and the wing span is 73"

well i printed it out at 25 sheets and the wing span is 80"
and the fuse is 39" now will tape the 25 sheets of paper together to make the plans ...i guess my printer dosnt scale to good
ohhhhh well it will be bigger.

if you print it out at 16 sheets of paper
the wing span is 62"
and the fuse is 29-1/2"
i started cuting out the fuse and strentheners
the fuse ribs and the rudder it will be fixed ..more like a support...also the elevator will move..."remember this had rudder only" it is old school............. so it will have 2 servos for the wing and 1 for elevator....
