closeup of the stock ring, you can see the specs in it, whatever type of steel this is, it's not broken in very well, it's pretty rough from either shot peening or whatever it's made out of. -

The cylinder has quite a bit of carbon, but it's not baked on, and wiped right off. -

Stock ring end gap, I didn't bother measuring it but it's between .005 and .010" Orange paper just so it photographs a bit better for you. -

Cylinder all ready to go, break the varnish with 600 grit, then rinse with hot soapy water, and blow out with compressed air. -

Heads up: anytime putting back together a 2-stroke, make sure the circlips are lined up and down, not side to side. If they are side to side, the inertia can make the pop out, resulting in a bad day. -

5mm Nordloks for the base and muffler (this engine had no lock washers on anything - just torque).
