Well it has taken quite some time to be in a position that I can relax and get some time to cater for myself and do a little bit of building and flying.
I have added the latest photo of the SQN from Saints Aircraft Corporation (SAC). Hope you like them as much as I do.
I have recently received a Harvard that I have changed over with some cosmetic surgery to make it look a little like a Wirraway. Working on the Mustang now and going to do like a fantasy scheme I found on the net.

Have photos of my Caribou that fell while I tidying up and its back to the maintenance yard to get her up and flying.

Hey there everyone.
Well this is the latest creation from the SAC, (Saints Aircraft Corporation).
This one is a design from myself off a three dimension picture.
This was a wonderful build and had a great time with the build.
Construction is as follows, used foam board for body with foam covered with balsa wings. Wing span is 1400mm and length just on 1530 mm. Currently powered by two 24mm Tower pro motors swinging 8x4 props but will change to three bladed 7 in once I get them. In no hurry to change but the 8 in ones do go very close to the fuselage, 5 mm gap. Motors are currently being fired up with 2 x 25 Amp ESC off a 2200 20 C S3 battery. Have the option due to the cavernous body to move the battery to for or aft to increase battery size.

Electronics are as follows, 5 x 9 gm servos, ele, rudder, ailerons x 2, steering. 2 x 18 gram for flaps which work even given the severe gull wing nature of the Caribou. Flaps only go 1/2 way along wing but once I get a better rx I will add the ailerons to flaperons to assist in the slow performance. Forgot to mention that the flaps are slotted fowler flaps.

Plane is also retract fitted with two electrics for the main U/C in the engine pods and using a tail wheel u/c assemble for the front due to space availability. Front wheel not in the correct position but hey its only stand off scale.

Paint job all done with good old brush work after preparing with spackling and WBPU covered. Not the best as I was getting greedy just...Continue Reading

Well all the stars were aligned a few months ago when I saw a Guiliani Mirage 2000 EDF for sale. Well price was right and this would save me heart ache of getting via building my first EDF.

Straight away I knew the cosmetic differences between a 2000 and a RAAF Mirage IIIO were slight so taking the bull by the horns I started shaping and sanding the differences into the model. Withing a month I had a Mirage IIIO well very stand off ish scale and squint those eyes a little. Building went well with a few minor mishaps as we all expect when building then the toughest decision as too what colour to paint the plane. I remember with fond memories watching the French Lady flying in the late 80s around Amberley QLD when they would visit and I loved the shape of the ladies.

I was hard pressed to either do a camo paint either green, light grey or on of the other varieties that were painted. Well I put it to a vote on here and a vast number opted for the ARDU (Aircraft Research and Development Unit) fanta orange plane.
A little bit of research and soon I was getting the paint sorted then decals had to be sourced which was easier than I though.

Final version I think looks some what fantastic, just hope she does not have a demise like 40 odd real Mirages the RAAF had crashing.

Finally got around to bringing all the planes down from the hangers for a photo shoot and then I realized that I have too many.
I thought that one can never have enough!
Just really running out of room with the ones that I don't fly often. Soon they may appear for sale.

Hello all,
Well another addition to the hanger has finally occured.
This time it is an F-111 built from foam and depron wings. It really was a labour of love as I had to have this plane finished nearly two years ago as thats when the lovely other half said it had to be finished by. We can not rush these things.
Plans were a mix of Beanies/ Super hornets and PSSS on line in the UK. I took the good aspects from each and built a bit of a hybrid. It does not have swing wings as I just wanted to get the plane right.
Its now built and just awaiting for a very decent day to head off into the wild blue yonder. So far it feels good with a Cof G just about right and everything else feeling good.

Another from Shanes Hanger. This one was saved from the terrible Ebay at a very great price. When it came home it was not looking good for restoration but we have the time and know how. I think it looks good. Have started to convert to electric. From a SIG Cessna Skylane 60 size to what she is now. Just waiting on the engine and wondering if I will keep her at all as its just too large for me. Any takers? This plane serial number is VH- KLS, the wifes initials, just to get her involved. Next civi plane will have the kids initials when one comes into the hanger. Will fly on either S5 lipo or 21.6 V NiMh 4000mAh with a 12 inch prop if my calculations are correct. AUW planned is just over 6 lb.

The following plane is from the Hanger, really need to remove some of them. The Aero Commander is a scratch build from packing foam from a desk. Love the real plane but had to do change a few things due to experience building with foam. Will change to brushless one day. Original version has U/C but did make it too heavy.

This is one of the latest planes to arrive. This one was saved from Ebay for a lovely $50 with two other planes. Once was a glow but hopefully will fly under E power once I can afford the gear. Not even sure if I will convert or just sell off, heart has grown fond of it. My personal favourite WW2 fighter.

Also have other planes in the hanger that include a SOuthern Sailplanes T Bird which is what started the whole plane fetish off. Here she is after a re build.

T'Bird been sold to another lucky flyer Roachie.
Hope he has as much fun as I have with the old girl.

This blog will show pictures of the Hanger and all within in different stages of construction. First plane is a English Elecrtic Canberra Mk 20 from the RAAF. This plane is currently the gate guard at RAAF Amberly in Queensland Australia. Well kept but a sad sight just sitting there all alone.
