What a blast !
Team N.E.R.D. (new england rotor demons) and Multirotor geeks from all over new england, arrived early this morning and flew, raced, and talked Multirotor until late this afternoon for some.

After morning warm-ups, we devised a crude course and attempted time trial racing. FUN ! Man, its harder than one would imagine even. More coverage of the event will be posted in the original thread here. And over at www.MultiRotorRacing.com.

EDIT: CHECK OUT THE WINNING RACE !

Bob "the sign guy" had organized a group of multirotor nerds to meetup and share experiences in Swansea mass, spring 2012. Since then we have met only one other time but I think we will have massive turnout for the next meet!

With the addition of our FIRST ever organized races as well as swap meet, e are sure to draw out some more rotor nerds and I bet even some spectators!

The new team started will be name "New England Rotor Demons" and will go down In RC history for being the first American multirotor race team!

After seeing the Australian group calling themselves "team drop bear" TDB for short, a few guys in my area decided it was time for us to give that a try.
The concept exited me to the point I couldn't sleep at night.
I felt the FPV comunity and the multirotor comunity were expanding so rapidly and aircraft coming down in complexity and price to the point that anyone with a little flying experience could have a blast FPV racing.
Looking for more info about racing multi rotors I found NO WEBSITES dedicated to the subject completely. The TbD guys had been posting their videos, and there was an existing figure 8 LOS race being attempted acros the globe, but no centralized Forum to gather racers and teams and get the sport going.

So I started www.multirotorracing.com !

With little free time at the moment , and my 4th child due any minute... I have had little time for the bells and whistles on the site.
The main skeleton of a forum based site, news and team building sub forums are in place and now it comes down to people joining up and getting together to race! I have many ideas for better group building and even sponsored events in the horizon!

Please check it out and give me feedback on what you would like to see happen in this new aspect of RC !
