Great flyer, performs really well and is ridiculously easy to fly. Must admit it feels a bit "toy-like" after flying all my other fms 1400mm on the 4258 motor, but I've no plans to upgrade this one, it's a lot of fun as is.

Pity the fa18 didn't make it... Got a few more in boxes but the 63inch seagull p47 and the 74 inch 3dhs edge will be my next builds. Excited about those two.

Mate of mine stuart, and his awesome F22 raptor. Over 2 years and countless hours he's put into this plane, and it's one of the best sounding jets I've heard. Hope ya like it.

Here ya go. I asked my trusty cameraman Al to keep a fairly wide view most of the time to try give it some perspective, so u may want full screen to see the plane a bit more clearly. As always, looks better in HD. Didn't use the sound card or any tunes, so you can hear the motor and the throttle inputs, you may also want to turn the volume up to hear the motor better once the flying starts. I did a 5S flight, then a 6S, and condensed the footage to about two and a half odd minutes for each, with some wot passes, climbs, and a few aerobatics thrown in to make it a bit easier to compare. Best speed Kurt reckons allowing for angle of the gun was about 120km/hr coming out of a loop, but 112km/hr on the flat. Had some trouble getting some readings, so we are not 100% about the recorded speeds. Very light winds, first thing in the morning, n yes - freezing bloody cold.

I'm still of the opinion that 5s is the sweet spot, simply because you still have more than enough power to do anything you might want to throw at it, and you are not stressing the airframe. 6s is pushing it as you'll see, though combined I have to be near 80 flights now with this upgraded set up and still no issues to report.

Hope you enjoy.

G'day fellas,

Also had a few people ask about fitting a Mr RC Soundcard, so some pics and details below. First tho, I do highly recommend it. It's a great product and the owner Andrew, gives first class service and support. (I've now bought 8 sets of these, never had a issue or fault yet). And again, (cause I can't say this enough), the service and support given by Andrew is second to none.

Some features with the latest version, currently 4.1:

1. You get 6 engine sounds, plus some extra sounds you can allocate to switches. Typically these are machine guns, cannons, "clear" (voice sound), etc. The merlin also has the famous p51 "whistle". There are chips available for different engine sounds as well. There is also car versions, and Andrew will also do custom sounds. With the standard aircraft card you'll get:

Lycoming
Merlin. (Spitfire/mustangs)
Continental
Daimler Benz 601. (Me109/fw190)
Pratt and Whitney double wasp (P47/corsair/hellcat etc)
And a jet turbine sound.
Changing the sound is easy, via a push button on the card.

2. You get start-up and shut-down sounds of the engines, and it's all auto with your throttle inputs. Tho using throttle trim is best.
3. It's dead easy to install. (Even I can do it!)
4. It's loud, and in my opinion, sounds awesome in the air, really finishes off a nice model. (See videos below).
5. And with the TT transducers (your speakers), they use the foam of the aircraft to resonate the sound,...Continue Reading

Here it is, my first edf! Proving to be a great plane to fly, really having a blast with it. (I think there are more 90mm edfs in my immediate future!)

As I said, new to jets, so the flying is nothing spectacular, but the vid should make up for it in entertainment value... I hope you enjoy, it was fun making it!

Been raining lots of late so I have had plenty of time to do up a new vid for a good mate of mine of his new ME 262. This was taken from vid I shot of his first four flights, tho he's pretty comfy with a edf. Hope you enjoy it.

G'day. Get asked a bit about this so thought i'd post a permanent reference for anyone wanting to do it before I deleted the pics. I highly recommend it because:

1. It's awesome fun, really gives this bird the power she deserves n u have a 5s or 6s option. (6s is a bit of rocket note)
2. It so simple, even I could do it.
3. It's awesome fun.

All you need is the 4258 motor and X mount from the FMS Olympus (any fms dealer will have), and a suitable 100 amp speedy. I used a castle 100, n it just fit under the battery tray that I can still use the sliding tray no issue at all. (Note: if you want a smaller gap than pictured below, you need to order the spare 4258 prop adapter, reduces the gap by about 2-3mm) rest of the instructions on the pics below. Easy! Finally, go fly the pants off her and laugh out loud while ur doing it. (And try to justify in ur head fitting the soundcard!) Some vids below, enjoy.
