Most of you here on RCGroups know me for my Wicked EDF motors. However there is a complete other side of model aviation that most RCGroup users have no knowledge I am also involved with. I have been flying indoor rubber powered Free Flight duration models since I was about 12 years old (30 years ago). The models I typically build weigh in at less than one gram and can fly from 1 minutes to over 40 minutes on a rubber band. I am sure those who get their Model Aviation magazines have seen these type of models in the pages of the magazines before over the years.

I recently had an opportunity to take over the Indoor Free Flight Column as the last columnist was retiring. So this months issue of Model Aviation, April 2014, on page 132 and 133 is my first column

Ordered a non coaxial heli from Tmart the other day and it arrived today. Looks pretty good. It was not that expensive, only $39.99 with free shipping so I added in a spare rotor blade and landing gear to my order. Make sure you select items in the USA warehouse and it will ship from New Jersey. I ordered last Friday night and it arrived today, one week later even with the Thanksgiving holiday. So far looks pretty neat, the lipso are on the charger now. Will keep you all posted on my success (or lack of) from coaxial to single rotor!

Well the Blade CP arrived yesterday. I am happy with the condition it is in. I bought it off RCGroups from a guy in WA named John. He took great care of it and included so much extra parts I almost feel like he got ripped off! The crazy thing is that the frequency of the 4in1 unit is on CH19 which happens to be the same as my Futaba 9C. Talk about good luck! I tried it in my front room and got it to hop a few times. John was kind enough to email me all his setting from his 9C radio so I can program it into my 9C. I guess it was helicopter destiny. For those NCEF members who read this, I personally blame Blackhawdown for me buying this heli. After watching him fly at Osborne park with it, I was very interested as my last Heli was a ebay junk model that never flew. These Blade CP are a nice looking chopper. Parts are cheap and easy to get as well.

I also bought one of the Cox micro warbirds Corsair yesterday at Hobbytown USA in Mentor. I figured since I have a GWS corsair, the micro one will be nice to have with it. I was quite impressed with the little $20 kit. Better quality than I had expected actually. That will be a build in the near future.
