So after what seemed like months of bad weather after work, I finally get some good weather too look forward to. I charge up my batteries, and head out to my local park with my trusty SoarStar. Not minding the warmth that was out today, I hook up my Battery, check range and control surfaces, and up we go!! I have to say, It feels good to fly after a long day of work, and even better to fly in almost perfect weather. aside from one bad landing, I couldn't of asked for a better flight.

Its been quite windy here in Davis, so I decided to finish my E-starter. I have decided to make few modifications to the original plane, since I really like the way these planes fly with their original setups. The only modifications I did was put foam tires on the landing gear, and instead of using the tiny wing pegs that the instructions suggest, I switched it out for the more robust ones that come with the parts set. I'm please with the way this plane came out, what a BEAUTY! the only mistake I did was using dubro nylon hinges instead of the cloth ones, which made the rudder and elevator stiffer than what I was going for, and I could only find 2 inch tires, to small for my taste. other than that, I'm excited to see this baby fly! ...Continue Reading

My first major crash today!!
Took the dihedral out of the Mini-Max Blue in order to give me more aileron control, however, I didn't reinforce the joint where both CF rods connected, and resulted in a folded wing during a dive... Some tape and foam safe CA should fix it right up!

Hello there everyone,
its been a long time since I've posted in my blog for quite some time. but since my last post, my fleet of airplanes has grown 3 fold into a wonderful fleet of foamies, with the exception of one balsa Im saving for when I feel sure i can fly it. As you probably all know, its hard not to purchase kits and planes now a days. They are inexpensive, great fliers, and I have to say, really easy to fix. so after I built my Soarstar, I was so amazed by how slow and predictable it flew, that I went and just started buying more!!! My collection now consists of:

Soarstar
(2) SkyFly 2
GWS beaver
GWS Pico Stick FD
GWS Slow Stick
(2) GWS Tigermoth 400
GWS Pico Tigermoth
GWS Funny Park
GWS E-Starter
Wattage MiniMax Blue
Wattage MiniMax
Wattage CAP 232

However, I dont fly all of these planes, some are kits, and I bought some of them with the excuse that I would teach my father (who loves planes as much as I do) how to fly. these also other planes i bought for my family, simple two channels for them to practice on, and get hooked. Yet, the sheer fact that in over a year, my collection of planes went from just 2 planes, ( soarstar, and that crappy Chinese Sonic Sabre which is long gone) to 14 planes is astonishing!!

Ive learned so much this past year, and hope to keep on learning, so that I can continue flying in this great hobby!!!!!!!!

I recently purchased a brand new Soarstar from a friend who had it in his garage for a while. Unfortunately, this neat plane did not come with instructions, or user manual. Does anyone have a Soarstar somewhere who could kindly upload the user-manual in any for? I really want to get started in this plane, but I really want to do it with the instructions at hand. So if anyone would be kind to upload the instructions, it would be MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!

first let me say hello to everyone in my first blog post.
now down to business.

I have recently bought a Sonic Sabre 2 off ebay for 13 dollars. however, after receiving it, I did a little research on the plane itself. all of the reviews I have seen for this plane are bad, and all mention one fatal flaw, it nose dives into the ground. Upon inspection, I noticed that the hole in the back of the plane makes it so that the air coming out of the plane points down. meaning that the plane might have a propensity to just fly down.

has anyone else flown this plane without any modifications to the plane?

I'm going to experiment with the plane a little to try to see if i cant fix its nose dive tendencies without having to heavily modify the plane. pics and updates to come.
