In honor of surviving the Mayan "end of days", we served coffee and cookies on Saturday morning. Actually, because of the cold snap (high was 62 F deg) I brought a" box of Joe" up and the wifey baked some cookies.
As far as flying went, it was a mixed bag. The wind stayed at about 12-15mph most of the day, but it varied from West to North, averaging NNW. THe flying was either great (straight out of the N to NNW) to terrible (on the NW corner). All in all not a bad day, after all, we proved the Mayans wrong!

Unfortuantely I arrived late on the hill. My wife had some errands for me to run and also I had to play the "gift giver santa", dropping off some gifts at the gate.
On the plus side, the wind was up, at least 15mph and coming almost straight on from the East. Plenty of fun and action when I arrived. The guys told me that earlier in the morning was the best. Enjoy the pics and happy holidays.

PS Some of the guys went to FSS #8 this weekend. Here's a report from there:

The winter winds were still with us this past Saturday. We had a 15mph breeze out of the East. It's still tough to get to the East slope, with the old West side road closed off and now overgrown with deep grass and bushes. But it didn't deter a sizeable crowd from showing up and parking three rows deep just above Powerline Rd. By 1:30 PM we had flown to our hearts content and lunch beckoned, so we shut down and got "off the top" before the 2 o'clock closing bell rang.
