Hello all. This night flying stuff becomes quite easy after one or two builds. Stringing LEDs on 32 gauge wire and matching up resistors can be done quite fast also. I use just a lighter to scour the wire on the points where the solder joints are. Magnet wire is shielded so you don't have to worry about shorts. The wire is tough and can be bought in any Radio shack. Resistor calculators are an easy google search away. Running lights in parallel can save some weight also, but none were put in parallel on this build.

I purchased my LEDs on Ebay and they came with resistors that are matched and cost less than 10 dollars per 100qty. Just a note. My first Acromaster cost around 100 dollars for the 100 LEDs that I had to purchase 4 years ago so the prices have really gone down.

The finale weight was around 4 oz heavier than the all in weight and that is with a heavier battery so on a 33 oz plane, with the power systems that we are using will handle the extra weight with no problem.

This will be hopefully my last A-4. I have built a bungee launcher so no mistakes can be made for launching without a runway. Had a bad hand launch with previous A-4. Was my mistake for not launching directly into the wind....Continue Reading
