I came across this kit in my hobby shop. It's intended for 3 2.5gr servo's and a 2 S brushless motor. It's annouced at around 50 gr. I decided to build it with all a 4-site equipment. Building as always for me for this kind of structures upside down on a table to ensure a flat structure. It's a fast build but using UHU POR and epoxy dabs. No CA with EPP for me, too brittle.
40 grams ready to fly with a Nanotech 160 mah. Flies well but I have to finetune powerchain as it doesn't prop hang. Will see.
8 Attachment(s) Twinstar Brushless conversion

I converted a friend Twinstar 2 by using:
- BL Motors http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dproduct=14739
- Propelers tri blade 7x6 http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dproduct=16711
- Esc turnigy 18A http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=2168

Installing the motors was easy: removing the Speed 400 and attaching the BL from their backplate and 2.5mm SHORT bolts on the original firewalls.
Ready to fly weight is 1033 grams with paint and a 2200 3S.
Power consumption full throttle is 19A. With a Nanotech 3 S 2200 we fly 10'30'' with mix of aerobatics and circuits (not trying to save the energy)

I installed a buzzer in the nose pointing forward and with the quite silent sound of the twin BL, we hear it from around 100 m away.

I find the performances a perfect ratio of investment/power/flight time/performance. 3 blade propelers are not the most effectives but we fly in unprepared fields and it offers more ground clearance than 2 blades
22 Attachment(s) X 20 Mytube jet

I made some years ago a small proped micro jet with a fuselage made of a pipe insulation foam tube. Those kind of fuselages were created by Martin Muller for the Magnum Classic, Magnum Double...
I mixed this time this kind of fuselage with a bigger delta wing. See pictures as build log. Seems mee that construction images are self speaking and it flies superbly.

I name this jet kind "mytube"

2 s 800 lipo, 6 gr HXT servo's
GWS 7 x 4 drived by a Turnigy 3020 1800 kv
53 cm wingspan
54 cm length
180 gr flying weight with battery

7 Attachment(s) Twinstars are growing in trees

I am teaching a friend to fly with a Twinstar. He is a very good trainee and a promising pilot. Sadly he lost one propeler and dived on top of a tree. As he is owner an running LOGEMAT a company selling and renting building equipment recovering the plane was a pleasure... for big kids with big toys! The plane has NO dammage! We will replace the pusched and glued original Gunther type propelers by something more reliable: aluminium prop adapters

Built one year ago, according to Chara plans and his excellent tread: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...ighlight=bmr+2

it's one of my favourites one. Got around 50 flights so far and I'm always surprised by the difference between high speed and low speed passes in both cases without any bad habits. around 166 gr with 2 pces of 6 gr servo's, one HK Spektrum clone reveiver, one 3000 kv HK 24 gr motor, 2 S 800 mah lipo, 12A esc, Graupner 4.7 x 4.7 prop.
Built from 3 and 6 mm depron, hinges from painter tesa yellow masking tape: surprises often around me but it sticks very well on depron, remains steady and acrylic paint sticks perfectly on it!...Continue Reading

I red in a mag before building mine that balancing was difficult even with a 3 S 2200.
From the beginning I did my best to move everything forward. F.e. tail servo's weren't placed in the foreseen recesses. I filled them with Epp, as the battery hatch.
Pictures speaks for themselve. I ended at 785 gr with a 3 S 1250 batt and around 72 gr lead above the engine bay. I recently reinforced the landing gear, see the last...Continue Reading

I toke those pictures for myself hoping to see them back in 10 years and to compare

Created by Martin Muller as "Magnum Reloaded". Shrunk and cnc cut in EPP by a friend, P51 motor, 1S: a pleasure.
Winglets, stab and fin 2mm depron.
Wing, horizontal surface and landing gear are remoavable without any tool. Weight 38.5 gr with one 138mah cel.
The canopy was made by shaping a form in balsa (it exists :-)) and heating on this a piece of translucent shrink tube. I needed some 1 gr weight in the nose: shame on me!

From an undetailed but clever small plan found here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/member.php?u=234845 on I R Irv's blog. It's a Micro Mustang Dart, powered by a 7mm geared brushed motor. It's not a floater but a very lively fun machine as all other darts. I added ailerons and it's 22.3gr with a 160 Nanotech batt. 2 mm depron, nearly no carbon nor reinforcement. Sharpies decorated. Thanks Irv's for sharing this piece of pleasure. I changed for more power the motor for one from a PZ P-51. Weight is now at 25 gr.

Here my IMP (see scratchbuilt foamies, created by Aio_1): 6mm EPP, Turnigy 2204-14T 19g outrunner, 6 A esc, 2S 360 Rhino, 8/6 GWS cut prop, 2 pces of HK 9gr servos, total weight 145 gr. I prefered the 9 g servos because of the large moving surfaces
Power-weight ratio is perfect!
I begun with the first PDF plan and I reshaped according the author comments in post #15 .I built it before the author released the V2 plan.
