After getting too board I pulled out my old Sonic Liner and grabbed a can of spray paint. A couple hours later I had a FireFox V2!

Its still stock with the 6V brushed 400's and stock props and a Greatplanes DC-3 ESC. Power is from a hobbyking 2200mAh 11.1v 15C lipo which powers it well. It can make a round, but tight loop at 3/4 throttle from level flight, nice rolls including pointed rolls, and even inverted flight. Its no speed deamon, but flies at a nice clip and can climb out at a 45* angle from a light hand toss. The only thing I dont like about it is its wobble when it comes in and out of turns.

I'd like to add trike gear with steering sometime, but I have to find replacement gear legs that are heat treated so they dont bend or give out under its 22oz AUW.

Voltage checkers are your best freinds!

This happoned last week after a 25min flight (it has a 10oz. tank).

I assume the battery went dead, even though I had charged it the night before. I went to bank to setup for a practice approch and noticed it dint roll well, thinking I had lost an aileron I added rudder when it gliched and went to about 1/2 throttle and full up elevator and started a long, fast spiral dive around and around from about 200ft up before it hit the lake! It was a scarriest sound and tallest spash I had ever seen and heard. I ran over to see the carnage of a million splinters floating around and my engine sinking to the bottom of the lake, when I seen my baby sitting upright, floating lighty on the still surface! Can you believe it!

After waiting about 10-12mn for the windy to push it ashore I tryed to pick it up, but it was so heay and full of water I almost fell in tryign to lift it! Upon taking the wing off and draining the fuse and stabbing holes in the wing with a big screw driver, I found it had sustain no damage other than a crushed cowl! No broken prop, engine, firewall, stripped servo, ANYTHING!! all was intacked!

After I got it home I dried it off as best I could and stripped the covering to let it air dry. ater a couple days I charged it back up, and plugged it all in and EVERYTHING WORKS!!! The Engine even runs well!!!

I recovered it and flew it again after strenious tests and all is well!

I couldnt have lucked out more!
I dont think ANYTHING can kill this old bird!

Here is my newest "trunk toy"! Its the PZ Citabra. Got it a few weeks ago as soon as they were available and LOVE it! Flies better than the Cessna, IMO. More info here

You gatta get one, whether to have, had, never had a PZ Cessna, this one has all the issiues fixed and it flies slower, tighter, with easyer aerobatic abilities!

I also later added some scale-ish wing struts made from1mm McD's foam tray and hot glue...looks great, no differece in performance and, not that it needed it, but thry did stiffen up the wing a lot!...Continue Reading

My newest and favorite 3D/pattern indoor plane to date!

The F3X Evo V1.3 by Tim H.

VERY responcive, yet still smooth and will go anywhere you point it and stay there! Very awsome plane.

The plane: 3mm Midwest cell foam
Paint- Wal-Mart testors spray mini cans

My setup, 3 Futaba S3114 servos
4ch futaba mini Rx
stock rimfire / ESC swinging a 10x3.8 APC
All CF reinforcment, landing gear and pushrods from a Yak 54 shockie

Perfect setup! 3D like mad on E-flight 2 or 3 cell 800mAh!
