Our guys back in the RCG Lab have been working on making some improvements to the RCG Channel Pages. Don't know what a channel page is? Well click on those icons at the top of the site and find out.

They are the best way to get to the content you want to see. It's easy to find, navigate, and helps you stay on top of the latest news in the R/C world. The new layout makes it even easier to find articles, news, and reviews for Airplanes, Sailplanes, Helicopters, FPV Stuff, Multirotors, Vehicles, and Boats.

You asked for it and the RCGroups techs have delivered!

RCGroups.com now offers even more file types for you to upload with.

As usual the RCGroups techs have been hard at work making RCGroups as useful, efficient and fun as possible!

Here are some recent updates to the site:

Attachments Uploader
We added a new attachment uploader that is simpler and more visually appealing. All images are now rotated to their proper orientation (This only applies to new uploads and not to existing images on the server). You can also now rearrange your image attachments by clicking on the provided tab and moving the attachments to whatever order you like. The uploader also now has a progress bar to help users monitor their loading files.

Mobile
The RCGroups mobile site layout has been totally revamped both visually and functionally. The entire style has been reorganized and decluttered making it easier to read and navigate. It works great on both mobile devices and on desktop browsers, and serves as an excellent tool for utilizing basic RCGroups features on the go. The new thread view's layout makes it easier to read. Clicking on a thumbnail in the mobile style now loads the full size image in the browser. Check it out to see all the new features.

Channels
The Channel pages were updated to clean up the look and tighten up the text. News, reviews and articles now all live in one place. We have increased the number of items shown in the article, news and reviews section as well.

General
Our general site changes include adding the FPV channel to recent photos and files page. We updated thread preview tool tip layout and we updated print thread and print article layouts. We also updated our stats page.

Since the last update our techs have been working on more bug fixes and feature enhancements that have improved many aspects of the site.

Here's a list of updates that just went live:

Blogs
Added ability for a user to delete reported posts from their blog.
Fixed "Deleted post" PM so that it only sends when the post is actually deleted.

Classifieds
Increased the font size of the categories in the show menu.
Added a strikethrough for sold prices.
Changed the default category to "For Sale" in the classifieds.
Added price columns to classic classified threads - with and without thumbnails.
Added the price in mobile style.
Distance can now be sorted in descending order.
Added the price to classic and mobile for sale/wanted posts.
Added the ability to remove and replace thumbnails in the default version of the classifieds.
Fixed the free item search.

General
Thread Tool tip now appears when you hover over the title, instead of the cell.

Search
Added the price to for sale/wanted search results in classic, default and mobile styles.
Price is only displayed in the post view if the post is the first post in the thread.

Our techs have been working hard to bring you new features and improvements.
We have updated many aspects of the site.

Here's a list of what's new:

Attachments

• Maximum image size has been increased to 3200x2400 and 1.2MB.

Classifieds

• Added price, currency type and shipping fields to the classifieds add/edit thread form.
• A price of 0 is used to indicate the item is free. If the price is left blank, no price or shipping details will be displayed.
• Updated thread listings with new design.
• Added “Submit Trader Feedback” link in classifieds.
• Added profile field to save a user’s default currency setting.

General

• Added a two step unsubscribe process to forum and thread subscriptions.
• Updated thread listings with new design.
• Updated forum listings with new design.
• You can find all articles by a user on their member profile page.
• Updated layout for search results.
• Added a new feature to help combat spam.

Here are the highlights:

Blogs

• We changed the links at the bottom of each blog post to make them clearer to the user.

Calendar

• The layout style has been updated.
• Calendar events are now featured on the index page side bar.

Channels

• We have added an upcoming events list to the channel pages.

Places

• We added an events button to the default landing page.
• We added an upcoming events column.

Did you know that with an iOS 6 device like an iPhone or iPad you can upload multiple photos to RCGroups.com?

Here are the steps:

1. Click "Post a Reply."

2. Click "Manage Attachments." (click for image)

3. Click "Choose Files." (click for image)

4. Choose the images you want to upload from your iOS device. (click for image)
* Note that it may take a few seconds for the images to be added to the uploaded window.

5. Click "Upload Images." (click for image)


We are sorry to say this feature doesn't work with Android or Windows phones.
It is an issue with how those phones work and not with the site.

Now on RCGroups.com you can have a separate discussion forum for every R/C hobby shop, flying site, car track, and boating site in the world! Every place on our RC map has its own discussion forum and event calendar!

Local Places New Features

• The list of places is sorted by distance from you
• You now have the ability to search and filter the list
• New hyper linked button to the Maps page
• New hyper linked button to the Places Directory

New Place Page Features

• A "New Event" button has been added for your events
• A nearby Places link has been added
• A nearby Classifieds link has been added
• Events are now displayed on the Place Page

Click any place on your local page to view the updated Place page or click here for a sample.


Classifieds Update

• The left column of the Classifieds now features a "Find Nearby Classifieds" button

Go to the Classifieds page.

A New RCGroups.com Feature - Places

Our techs and graphic designers have been hard at work in the RCG lab to make the world’s largest and most active RC site even better.

Here is a rundown of the new features:

Channels
You may have noticed the new channels at the top of each page.
Click on these to view genre-specific RC channel pages.

Each channel has:

Navbar
- The navbar was redesigned in our new style.
- Any links you don’t see in the navbar can now be found in the new “More” section.
- The login form is now in a drop down menu in the navbar.
- Private Messages are denoted by an image of an envelope with green dot over it. This is found next to your user name on the user menu navbar section.

Side Bar
- We added our partner site, RCHeliResource.com, to the side bar.
- Now you can view daily RC heli news from our home page!

Attachments
- Images and attachments can now be filtered by type (image, file, all).
- The video and image light boxes have been redesigned.
- “Show Attachments/Images in this thread” can now be grouped by date or user.
- Recent attachments page was split up into Recent Photos and Recent Files.
- Images can be filtered by type in the thread gallery and recent attachment pages.

The RCGroups.com tablet page is a free interface for all mobile devices! You can access the RCG tablet portal with any device, from an iPad to an Android. Use any mobile device or even use your home computer to check it out!

This dynamic portal gives you access to multiple sections of RCGroups.com that are updated every 30 minutes.

The Tablet page is loaded with features and uses a "swipe and click" navigation style.

With our new tablet page, you can view:
