I have started the Back Pack Ground Station build.

I've been thinking about it for a few months,.

The one thing that has been a challenge to me
is carrying the transmitter.

I finally concluded that It is not feasible to try to carry the Quad
and the FPV gear in one package. I'll have to figure out something
to transport the quad.

The plane I can carry "in hand", but the quad will have to have a case.

EVO-55" Maiden Flight (7 min 8 sec)

I have been experimenting with airframes.

I've been trying to find a stable airframe that can cut through the wind.

After flying a few different wing configurations, I eventually came to the

Sea Vixen, which was a carrier based airframe.

I got looking at the Sea Vixen and realized that it was the same wing shape as the f-wing that I was flying.

The biggest difference is the twin tail boom.

So while I was doing some repairs to the f-wing, I decided to do the conversion.

Here is a picture of the f-wing. (which inspired the EVO)

Here is a picture of the EVO.
EVO is an evolved airframe from a flying wing,
to a flying wing with a fuselage

To an airframe that was inspired by the de Havilland DH.110 Sea Vixen

The airframe is still a work in progress.

I haven't maidened it yet.

I will wait to install the FPV gear, until after the Maiden.
Since it is an untested airframe, I need to get the CoG correct,
and I figured it would be better to wait on the expensive equipment until after I test the airframe.

The model has to be created in 72mhz.

I have not been successful in importing a model and having it work.

I had to find and purchase a 72mhz module.

With the module in, and with a ppm input source, you can convert to

12 channel PPM / Trainer mode.

It works, it is just kind of a pain to get it to work, but this route is likely

much easier than getting futaba to accomodate us with a firmware change.
