Just for the fun of it, I went and had a copy of the so-called "mini" Telemaster plans. I thought it would be fun to build the small version and (try) to fly it with a geared 400 motor as was suggested in one of the posts I read. We'll see.

A short autobiography - yuck.

For the sake of 'enlightenment' about myself, with one exception, the last time I flew R/C airplanes on a regular basis was the spring/early summer of 1978. I had come through my second Goldberg Falcon 56' which I still have, graduated to an Apprentice, which I also still have although in a state of fuse repair. I did graduate to low wing aircraft with the Top Flight Contender, a nice flying airplane. It too had a hard landing but I have kept it also. The one part of each aircraft the "disappeared" over the years was the motors, we had a (now recovered) child who got into drugs and sold that part of the planes for money. Of course, that's all ancient history.

When I decided to get back into the hobby a few years ago, I found the hobby had progressed beyond my means with gas engines and ARF's, remember, I liked to build models, kits or from plans, that was part of the enjoyment. (there were other planes, I just highlighted the three of them) So, I went to boats, something I could build, even if two dimensional. And now I'm getting back to planes.

I have bought some foamies along with the recommended motors and other electronics, not really understanding the whys and wherefores, especially when they started talking Kv's and watts. I have read some articles about electric motors and batteries but, most definitely, your two articles pulled together what it all meant; for that, I "Thank You" very much.

That's where I'...Continue Reading
