The one I will be doing is the Silver "La Patrona" livery with a second set of wings modified to have a working folding outboard wing panels.

Looking to rework several of my old hangar queens these days and convert them over to electric and give them a new face lift. This is one of them from Too Long ago that I still have and used to be set up on a pair of O.S. .51 FSR's....Soon now to be converted to electric and completely stripped and refinished. She's looking a little shabby these days after being stripped of her motors and radio gear about 23 years ago. This was actually done while I was in the Air Force at Biloxi MS attending "A" school for Avionics just prior to Desert Storm as a tribute to my Dad who used to be a Radio operator on them in the Air Force Reserves at Luke AFB in AZ.

During her day she flew great. She was a handful to fly and very touchy on the elevator, but that was expected, since she is short coupled. I got about 6 flights on here, before I got busy with Desert Storm and distracted on to other projects....Time to revisit the old girl

The fuselage is all fiberglass and the wings are balsa sheeted foam cores. The floats are solid balsa on balsa & plywood reinforced pylons. The cowls and nacelle's are ABS plastic along with the turtle back in the wing top center....these will more than likely be scrapped and replaced with fiberglass components.

This is the second of two of these I made with the first one having scale operational retracts via a spring air retract setup. I still have it today and would love to incorporate in to this bird for land operation...The only...Continue Reading

This is what I've got done on mine so far and the few changes I've made

I also changes the size of the main wheels by using the foam tire from a larger wheel and stretching it up on the original wheel hub. The Nose gear mod, tire, and strut is from the FMS 1400 T-28 Trojan.

PCB's are from the new FL F7F Tigercat.

I also have the radio programed for independent throttle control, by separating one of the throttle leads and placing it in Aux4 and programming in two special mixes to the rudder I can vary the RPM of each motor on the throttle stick by using it with rudder..... P-Factor turning I can also set them back to normal synced function at the flick of a toggle switch

Duke B60 and DX9 radio programed for independent throttle control (4 min 43 sec)

I will be using two admiral 4000's. Though I do also have it set up to run a single battery, will just require a bigger and heavier single battery. As it it now, I have 3 1/2 oz of lead in the nose with the two Admiral 4000's in order to balance.

I also CF strip reinforced the nose section of the fuselage.

And yes, I do have a full set of lights in the passenger compartment and cockpit that light up the entire interior. I haven't completed all the exterior Nav lights install yet and will be doing more on that later. Still have a few thing to do to it yet cosmetically.

I have wanted one of these planes for a long time, being the twin war bird fan I am , I will be setting this up for all electric operation on both Power setup and retracts. At the moment I'm undecided on which size and brand electric motors to use? it currently has a pair of exceed RC Monster Power 50-65 400KV motors on it with 60A Hobbywing esc's along with the stock ASM pneumatic retracts.

ASM P-61 Black Widow

Needs a little work and TLC, but will be completely different and detailed out when I'm done with it

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
I have had mine now for a while and made a several test flights. I handles very similar to the earlier 1700mm P47 but in a slightly smaller size and definitely with more power and much better efficiency with much longer flight times on the same used 6s lipo batteries.

FMS has been listening to many of the modelers post's here and the desires they would like to see in new planes. Looks like they have incorporated many in this new 1500mm P-47D "Razor Back"... First let me give a special thank you to the FMS Company for giving me the opportunity to look at and review this model.

I am very impressed with with the new foam used which is very light in weight and the finish is well done and smoother than most I have seen in the past. The internal plug in wing connection concept is very convenient and provides for quick assembly and disassembly at the field. The use of the battery tray is very nice, but could be a bit wider to accommodate most available 6s lipos without getting hung up on the locking tabs it slides in to.

The level of scale fidelity is exquisite and is among some of the best I've seen. The detailing of the cockpit is fantastic and adds to the already nice scale appearance of the plane, though it could use a differently designed pilot figure for better appearance for fighter pilots of the era. Review of the "FlightLineRC" F7F-3 Tiger Cat "Top Secret" project "Lelu"
Initial unboxing review:

I received the mysterious box from FlightLineRC and MotionRC and upon initial inspection was pleasantly surprised to find a gorgeous 1600mm twin all electric R/C PNP F7F-3 Tiger Cat. Time to do the happy dance and boogie down . I too have been fortunate enough to have been selected to test and fly a production version F7F-3 for the past month now.

My first inspections were of the foam finish and panel lines; I was pleasantly surprised to find it smooth and beautifully painted in dark sea blue. The texture and finish rivaled my recent purchase of a Durafly British Mk 5 spitfire and P-40N which at the time, was the best foam finish’s I’ve ever seen on a foam RC Model. Can’t say that now after seeing this F7F-3 Tiger Cat from "FlightLineRC". The finish is hands down second to none. I own several of their recent models and this one sets the bar yet higher again than their already high standards, I am thoroughly impressed!!!

After several days of ogling over the pieces, inspecting the electronics, and components of the airplane...I have noticed several nice new features. All the control surfaces are hidden hinged and countersunk (with exception of the elevators) for a scale like look and operation. PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE IF YOU FLY ANY RC AIRCRAFT.
The FAA has announced a registration process for hobbyists who fly RC aircraft. I STRONGLY suggest that EVERYBODY read the FAQ page they have (link at the end) and demonstrate that we modelers are responsible pilots by registering as soon as possible after the website opens on December 21, 2015.

Here are relevant highlights:

1. Registration is free for the first 30 days. You pay 5 bucks online via credit card and they refund it.

2. You only register YOURSELF, get a number and put it somewhere on each of your aircraft.

HERE IS WHAT THE FAA SAYS ABOUT THAT:

A. You will receive a unique registration number that applies to any and all UAS that you own. You must mark all of your UAS with the unique registration number before operating. A registration certificate that contains the unique FAA registration number, the issue and expiration dates, and the name of the certificate holder will be sent to your email address immediately.

Here are a few pictures of the latest addition. A droppable water working "Torpedo" Still doing some refinements since the last one exploded and caught fire and melted in the water.

This is my second one of these. The first one exploded and caught fire last weekend when the Lipo got wet the second time I took the plane out to test it. the first time was a complete success and worked perfectly. Too Perfectly in fact and took off across the lake ....forcing me to take a swim after it.

It consist of three of the grey FMS Zero Drop tanks glued together and hollowed out in select sections that house a small 1S 150mAh lipo powering a small electric motor, dowsed in corrosion X. The (+,-) end of the circuit are left slightly exposed at the nose tip of the TORPEDO to cause a circuit short, and closes the circuit to engage the motor when it makes contact with water after it's dropped.

I'm also doing this same thing for my Free Wing SBD5 on the center line drop

In short...I tried to make it as simple and easy as possible. it's really not hard or sophisticated. Simple small motor, wire, battery (many to choose from)...I used a leftover 1S lipo...but I may change it to AAA or AA instead? later.... Less volatile ...lol

Took my old Airfield Stuka which was crashed into many pieces a while back due to a pilot dumb thumb and decided to give her a new make over. Did her in an Afrika Desert Corp. livery

Bought me a new one from Motion RC, made me a second canopy hatch cover as an option to fly with with the cockpit open. I will leave this one the original two tone green camo colors...at least for now?

Both have Mr RC sound system with 2 speakers installed. The old one has the older SPL speakers. Then new FMS Stuka has the new TT-25 speakers.

Both have working lights in the Tank buster cannon barrels, the entire cannon assembly pod can be unplugged from underneath the wing and changed out from one stuka to the next.

Both have a working bomb drop on the center line, though they'er each a different type. The new green Stuka has been modified to use the new release mechanism and bomb from the new Hobby Zone Zero

The One I just did in the desert livery is the old Airfield Stuka. There are some minor differences I noticed between the Airfield and the FMS Stuka...like pilot choice (Airfield is better), push rods (FMS are beefier and better), and ESC choice ( the old Airfield cane with a 65A where as the FMS only came with a 60A)...other than that....most the rest is the same.

Have never been real happy with the pilot figure for this plane and Japanese pilot figures in this size are impossible to find or not even available...So I took a stab at making one of my own from an old FMS pilot I had lying around. Here is what I came up with on just a quick whim. Even repainting to stock one doesn't quiet do it for me.

Used the end of a Q-tip and metal tape that I could bend and shape for the fur lining look and foam tac to stick it all on. Plus a quick re-paint to make it look a little better and more accurate for the era and type of pilot. Didn't come out to bad for a quick mod if I say so myself

For all my friends and colleagues here on RCG.... I want to let everyone know as of April 2014, I have moved back to Arizona in the Mesa & Gilbert area.

Moved back and quit my job with Lockheed Martin in GA for family and health reasons. Also just simply didn't like living there any more .

Will be looking for new employment here in AZ as well as planning on going back to school and peruse my dreams & goals toward engineering. Any leads or help to that end would be greatly appreciated

Happy to be in my element and back in the open warm desert country

This Has been my Baby & "Pride and Joy" for Years....Really!!! reluctant to be selling this one but time to be moving on to other new projects.

This is actually a true scale replica of an original V35B Bonanza located at Falcon Field in my home town of Mesa, AZ.

This is one smooth and graceful flying Air Plane and I've enjoyed many hours with her in the air. I flew hew with several motors, but the best was the Saito 150

I'm now moving all of the those parts over to my new Project the TF T-34 Mentor

I do hope some day Top-Flite re-release this Kit some Day. I would love to build this one again some day.


My Only regret is that I never got any video of me flying this plane, but that was long before I got into or had the ability and equipment to video the flights.
That will Not be the case with the TF T-34 Mentor I do Next
