I had a 50 mm EDF and ESC left over from a Banana Hobby F16. It's a cheapie, but it still works. Decide to make an Einzpfeil that Old Pilot designed (He's done some really cool planes!)........

I had to make it smaller and lighter than OP's 64 or 70 mm EDF planes. Ended up with 15.75" WS. The plane is just DTF. Plane alone only weighs 1.9 ounces. With EDF, ESC, receiver and two 9 gram servos, it came out to 6.2 ounces without battery.

I'll be using an 850 mAh, 3S battery that weighs 2.3 ounces, AUW is 8.5 ounces.

Held it straight up and at full throttle, it wanted to take off, so it has higher thrust than weight.

Couldn't fit the battery under the canopy because it need to be so far foward, so I put it on the bottom. Not as clean as the original, but it will have to do. Added some rails to the bottom to protect the battery. Made the wing shape triangular. Put the ESC with heat sink on the outside, hence no hood scoops.

The nozzle isn't real efficient. It's a bottom from a plastic fruit cup. Same diameter as the original plane. The EDF was too small for a styrofoam cup, so it's just a DTF cylinder.

Should be a fun, fast little plane! Thanks again OP!

Canadair CL 415

I built this 75% version of Scott Swanson's 56" wingspan CL 415 with working water collection system and dumping system.

This one is a simplified version; 41" WS and no water dumping capabilities. It has two 2208-14 motors, 18 Amp ESCs, 8 x 4 props and 1800 mAh 3S battery.

Most everything is in the wing; motors, ESCs, aileron servos and the receiver.

The wing weighs 14 ounces, the fuse 5 ounces. With battery, AUW should be about 24 ounces.

Probably won't maiden it until spring!
