This is the stock turbos. I call them "blobs" for good reason. Yuck. This model deserves better.
This is the rendering of the P-30 turbos Iflytailes.com sent me with full disclosure that the real thing wasn't "As smooth" as the photo. Boy they weren't kidding.
This is what arrived at my door. Cool in the sense that they are 3D, but wow, I had my work cut out for me.
See all the excess plastic on the bottom?
Here you can really see the concentric lines woven in due to the 3D printing process.
This gives you an idea of the size.
This is the plastic housing. I had to cutout the old turbos very carefully using scissors and a dremel, and sandpaper.

Chrome or metallic silver wheels adds a nice subtle touch of realism to your model.
Turbochargers with the realistic paint added.
You can see the all black turbocharger in the foreground. This is how it came stock. It doesn't look bad, but if scale realism is your goal, you will want to paint them their proper color.
Here she sits after the maiden.
I painted the rivets and heat panels behind the cowl flaps in Testor's Chrome on my FMS 1700mm F4U-4 Corsair. Such an outstanding scale detail that required minimal work.
Zinc Chromate is a fantastic way to add even more scale realism to your model.
Testor's Yellow for the prop tips are a much closer match to the full scale yellow tip color.
