Big Nasty before fixing from the crash and after. The motor flew out of the mount on the maiden and kinda mangled the front of the plane.

finally got the edge 540 epp set up properly with the right CoG and a powerful enough motor (I rewound an old HXT 24g 1300kv with 12 turns of 23 gauge wire) ... She will hover at 1 click above half throttle and has plenty of power to climb! now I just have to wait for the weather to get back in its right mind and I can fly!

This is probably more for the newcomers, but I'm just wondering if a series of videos like the one below would be helpful to people with a DX6i or not.

I thought I'd just make a very brief post about how I do control horns. What you need to make these are dental floss picks, a needle-like exacto knife, a dremel tool with cutoff wheel (or something else to cut the floss picks), a sander (optional to make a nice finished look) and a lighter.

1. Cut the floss pick to the desired shape (see pic below) and sand the end to make a nice rounded shape

2. Create a hole for the z-bend or dubro connector
Use a pointy needle-like exacto knife (see pic below) and heat up the tip with the lighter for ~10 seconds. Then, push it through the control horn where you want the control rod to connect

Use a regular exacto knife to clean up the plastic that mushrooms up around the edge

And that's how you make some simple control horns! Hope it's helpful to someone!

So, my trojan is completely covered and is waiting for some paint! and then it's going on display! We'll see how the painting goes b/c I've never painted tissue before, but I can always re cover it! I'm testing the paint on the stabilizer first.

Got my first sheet of EPP ever. It was not what I expected it to look like, but I will see how it goes. It is really expensive! Anyway, I am building Leadfeather's Edge 540T out of 10mm EPP instead of 9mm because that's all my hobbyshop had.

here is the plane I'm building

I was the lucky recipient of a castle phoenix 35 from anixs, and here it is! For those of you doubting his legitimacy, he is awesome and gave me a 35 A esc when the ad was for a 25 A one. Thanks anixs!

I fixed the head hub on my MCX. Instead of putting in the MCX one, I put in the MCX2 one which is much stronger and is part number EFLH2412 or something like that instead of EFLH2212
