Saturday was excellent. We had a strong15mph wind out of the NE with gusts to 20mph. The NE bowl was rocking and their was fun to be had!

This weekend started out rainy, not a good start, but by 11am it had cleared. We had the normal Summer wind pattern of SE or ESE. Although a few of the guys moved to the East slope (they said it was better on the East), our main group setup camp on the SE bowl. It was a suprisingly good day with a steady 10mph wind until 2pm.
Needless to say everyone left with smiles

PS I switched to my new camera this weekend. Which is a switch from 10mp to 24mp. Of course with picture resizing for the webpage you probably can't notice the small difference. Take a look, what do you think?...Continue Reading

I missed flying the Saturday before last. That's why no blog. Several of the Pompano Hill Flyers, including me, were up at the FSS#2 Thermal contest in Kenny World: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...1868204&page=3
I thinks this last Saturday was an 8 on our slope-o-meter fun scale. We had a good breeze on the SE Bowl, easily about 15mph. Some great slope flying, along with good thermals meant lots of combat and speed runs. Enjoy the pics!

The wind returns! Just what the doctor ordered, we had 15mph winds directly out of the East. Definitely a sloper day. Plenty of great combat and some awesome speed runs.
Also, next week is FSS #2 thermal duration contest in Ocala, FL. The Pompano Hill Flyers sponser and operate this event. So I and several other club members will be up there “working” the event. Hope to see a big crowd at Kenny World! https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1868204
