Well, since I got my 808 #3 keychain cam a while back, I've tried it on the champ, and in its factory case weighing 16g thats to dang heavy.

Tonight I took a retired pair of sunglasses that were still in decent enough shape to use, a paintstick & the keychain cam.

3 little pieces of paintstick, a little velcro and a rubber band for security, some hot glue and here is what I cooked up:

Well, got back into flying this spring heavily, since my daughter's over a year old now and time is more readily available!

I went die-hard micro this time, staying with the Sukhoi XP's, Champ and so on.

Currently building my inventory up of micro related gear & such. Chargers, test stands, meters, & scales capable of going down into the gram range.

Has been fun so far, and will update with test results as they get done on the newer generations of inrunners and such to take these planes into the brushless realms!

Long ago, when sailing ships ruled the waves, a captain and his crew were in danger of being boarded by a pirate ship. As the crew became frantic, the captain bellowed to his First Mate, "Bring me my red shirt!". The First Mate quickly retrieved the captain's red shirt, which the captain put on and lead the crew to battle the pirate boarding party. Although some casualties occurred among the crew, the pirates were repelled.

Later that day, the lookout screamed that there were two pirate vessels sending boarding parties. The crew cowered in fear, but the captain calm as ever bellowed, "Bring me my red shirt!". The battle was on, and once again the Captain and his crew repelled both boarding parties, although this time more casualties occurred.

Weary from the battles, the men sat around on deck that night recounting the day's occurrences when an ensign looked to the Captain and asked, "Sir, why did you call for your red shirt before the battle?". The Captain, giving the ensign a look that only a captain can give, exhorted, "If I am wounded in battle, the red shirt does not show the wound and thus, you men will continue to fight unafraid". The men sat in silence marveling at the courage of such a man.

I moved into my current house over the summer, and since beginning flying ~3 months ago, have improved greatly.. My neighborhood now comes out and sits on their front porches in the evenings just to watch me fly. School was a non-issue over the summer, and the park was only frequented by joggers, dog walkers, and a few random kids on the playground..

However last week that changed, and just yesterday (monday & first full day of school here) I was across the street in the school yard at 5pm.. Had my Yak 55 up, and ran it through the first pack.. brought it down and let it cool off a few minutes/take a breather.. Put the second pack in, and prepped for another launch..

2 seconds after it flies out of my hand, the after school program comes outside to raid the playground.. No big deal, the playground is behind my flight line, and the kids cannot leave that area. However, a very smitten 2nd grader watches and yells in amazement with a squeeky 6/7 year old boys voice "LAND IT!" I hear this every 5 seconds for the entire pack.. 10 minutes later the timer goes off as my brain turns to mush, and I finally flop it down in the grass ever so softly 5 feet in front of me. I pick it up, unplug it, power down the Tx and start the short walk home.

The same smitten 2nd grader suddenly starts yelling "FLY IT AGAIN!" every 5 seconds.. As I walk past the playground, he and a group of 5 or 6 others run up to me, at which point my experience from my 8 year old...Continue Reading
