After 3 years out of the hobby having back surgeries and moving states up to beautiful Gig Harbor, WA, I finally got into a club up here with a big grass field.

I went out to the GH field this morning at about 10:45am. Just an impulse flying decision based on the weather looking pretty good with mild winds at 4 mph according to the weather app on my phone. When I got out to the field winds were probably 6-7mph.

First up my newly acquired critical mass micro from hobby king. Thought it was balanced but it kept pitching up couldn't get the nose trimmed down. Then the wind got a bit gusty flipped the plane I lost orientation and a I stuck it in the field. I think this will be a hangar decoration now lol. HK micros not nearly as easy to fix as horizon's micros. Though parts are available. Also I need to make it a little easier to see orientation in air before it flys again.

Second up, the night flyer slowstick. Took off from the grass and had a great 12 min flight. Landed hot and ate a prop. Couldn't find the one piece so I apologize if some stumbles upon it near the pit area. 2nd prop n battery up next. Great second flight of about 14 min. Winds had picked up quite a bit so mostly cruised around 1/4 to no throttle, picked up a nice thermal and let it sit up there and climb. Battery alarm sounded so I glided her in for a successful landing. Can't wait to get it flying at night it's dialed in.

3rd up slow stick day flyer (future nightfly plane #2) got it up n...Continue Reading
