Have a Solidoodle 2 3D printer and along with the 3D printing discovery process, I found a talented artist named Yan in Quebec, Canada. Yan's creations slice and print very well so I sent him a donation. He said he would design a 3D model for me and after pondering his talents and my historical interest in airplanes, we cooked up the idea of WWII nose art.

Yan's creation is awesome and as I have not seen nose art rendered in 3D or sculpture before, I must say, this may be a historic rendering. My granddaughter calls her Betty Boom Boom.

Follow the print instructions on Yan's site. You'll need at least a 150x150 XY coordinate 3D printer to make this print. -- ggunners

Hello AFPD Flyers. Just completed a:

ParkZone Radian Pro for AFPD

Special Note: This AFPD model should be extracted from the .zip
file and the folder copied to the AFPD aircraft directory. Then
the .wav file for the model needs to be copied to the AFPD sound
directory. Please read INSTALL.TXT and EULA.TXT included. Special
thanks to Hans Wonner and Arthur Schönknecht for the fine-tuning
of this model.

The Radian Pro is a 5 channel (A/R/E/T/F) electric glider which
followed the original 3 channel (R/E/T) Radian which was very popular.

With the added ailerons, a flatter and stiffer wing along with the
flaps, the Radian Pro paired with a computerized transmitter with
mixing can provide crow, camber and reflex in addition to flaps.
All these improvements expanded the capabilities of the Radian Pro
to learn all the methods for enhancing lift and pin-pointing your
landings.

Hello rc-sim flyers,

A beauty of a model, the ParkZone RAF SE-5a for AFPD

This is one of those rc planes that is just beautiful to look at
and a pleasure to fly. Like most biplanes, it takes a bit of getting
used to as it needs more rudder than aileron to make smooth
turns.

Good flying to you.

Hello AFPD flyers,

Another often requested sim model is the HZ SuperCub LP.

In AFPD the rudder and tailwheel are assigned to the primary turning control,
the aileron stick. Also, if you go into a dive and pull up too fast, the wings will
fly off. And, you can actually bring it in for a landing, rip off the landing gear
and keep flying.

Hope you enjoy flying it.

Hi flyers,

Just thought I'd share my latest excursion into RC simulator land. I splurged and bought myself a copy of Aerofly Pro Deluxe Platinum edition. And the first airplanes I made were the:

Parkzone P-51 Brushless__Parkzone T-28 Trojan___

_

Here's my IPACS Aerofly webpage.

The reason I went with AFPD was I wanted to fly the many older EasyFly and AFP models too. Aerofly 5 has brand new flight physics and will not work with the older models. And there is a great group of folks still creating models for AFPD.

There is a steep learning curve for creating models in a new sim, so bear with me while I figure it out.

Hello Sim Flyers,

Once more, a request came along for an RC Sim model of the
PT-17 Stearman in yellow and blue. This is one pretty model.
The 3D model from Shinichiro Nishiya from 2001 was my starting
point. I kept a few parts of his original model and redid what was
needed to satisfy CV. Then I created a brand new image map
for this gorgeous airplane.

Hello flyers!

Another simmer asked for the F9F for Clearview and I found enough
images online to create the 3D model. This one is a beauty with its
yellow wings and grey fuselage. No extra stuff with this belly lander.
Just chuck it and start flying.

Hello all,

A flyer asked for a ClearView version of the Skyraider and I found an FMS 2 beta 7 model created
by Georg Gerdes in 2002 that was a good starting point. Thank you to Georg for his model.

I took the liberty to clean up the 3D model and add a few extra bits to it while preparing it for its
journey over to Clearview. We have a nice FMS beta8 model too.

Once more I was able to rescue 145 FMS models from the bit bucket called the Internet.

Pierre has a new site with his newest creations on it, but there were some awesome
WWI and WW2 warbirds and unusual models that he created that were no longer
available. Ask me about that Steam Powered airplane.

If you use the FMS sim, please browse through Pierre Gentil's recovered site.
There are some beauties in there.

120 Yoshio Nakakita FMS 2.7 Models recovered

When Infoseek Japan stopped offering free web sites, several Japanese sites
with numerous FMS 2.7 models were lost. One of those model authors was
Yoshio Nakakita who created a large quantity of rc-sim models for FMS 2.7
Hopefully, I have found most of them and preserved them for others to enjoy.
If you borrow any 3D model parts or full airplanes from Yoshio Nakakita
metasequoia .mqo .x or other files, please be sure and give him credit
for his amazing work.

Hello simmers,

I noticed that I had not posted the Imperial Star Destroyer model to
my blog when I finished them. So here's the ISD for FMS and RC Desk Pilot.

_______FMS___________RC Desk Pilot_____
_

SGTalon created an awesome Star War's experience with his Imperial
Star Destroyer. The model flies a bit nose high to keep the lift
working but scoots around nice once in the air with the recommended
motor. SGTalon says it always draws a crowd at the air field.

You can see the RC Groups discussion, plans and build log at:
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=887870

Buy the kits here: http://www.sg-ideas.com/sg-ideas_007.htm

Thanks to Rasterize for the Imperial Star Destroyer Skins:

Model Specs are:

AUW: 12.0 ounces with full skins (.3402kg)
Span: 24.5" (0.622m)
Length: 44.0" (1.118m)
Materials: Blue/Pink FFF and carbon fiber airframe.
Motor: TowerPro 2408-21 brushless motor, 22 oz thrust
ESC: 18A or larger brushless ESC
Prop: 9x5 GWS Prop
Batteries: 3 cell 11.1v 1300-1800 mAh 20C LiPoly
Transmitter: 3 channel A/E/T, Elevon Mixing
Servos: Hextronic 9g servos
CG: should be around 24.25" from the nose.

Please compare these models to the real version and let
me know what changes need to be made.

Hi folks, for those of you virtually flying your rc airplanes with the ClearView sim, I have taken the time to update the flight model for the PZ T-28 Trojan to version 6 from version 5. This version performs much better in CV than the prior version. I hope you enjoy it. -- ggunners

Hello flyers!

Coming from some recent publicity on the cover of Make magazine,
the towel easy build delta is gaining some awesome recognition.
Here's the RCDP version of the towel and the FMS version too.

____RC Desk Pilot_________FMS_________

The towel is a fun and easy to build delta airplane. With prudence,
you can build it pretty inexpensively. The parts lists and videos linked
from the Brooklyn Aerodrome website (http://brooklynaerodrome.com/)
will help you get it built, flown, crashed and rebuilt. Go make it and
have some fun.

Build Thread: http://makezine.com/projects/make-30...c-stunt-plane/
Build Videos: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBB7A58DCC7745FEB

Model Specs are:

AUW: 18 ounces (0.51kg)(estimate)
WS: 42.0 inches (1.069m)
Length: 23.0 inches (0.584m)
Materials: Fan Fold Foam (FFF) DOW Bluecore with Coroplast Deck
Motor: brushless 1400kv motor and brushless 18A ESC
Prop: 10 x 4.7 slow fly
Batteries: 2 cell 1800 mAh 10C 7.4v LiPoly
Transmitter: 4 channel 2.4Ghz like TTX404
Receiver: 6 channel 2.4Ghz like TTX600

Please try the sim versions and let me know how they fly
compared to the real model.

Hi folks,

This is an unedited and uncut flight from my Radian at SEFF using the EyePod and an HD keychain cam. I found that some of the editing software makes the result worse so be patient through the startup and shutdown.
