Here's a circuit diagram for a simple sound responsive LED controller for a drum kit. The basic premise is that a drum will light up when struck. It is designed for the Piezo diaphragm to sit under the skin of the drum, and the LED's to be mounted on the inside of the shell facing inwards so as to illuminate the whole drum interior. So far just the one circuit for each drum. If it works well I might integrate 5 channels into one circuit board to allow for lighting up a whole kit. If I did this I would have the LED's and piezo permanently within each drum, with the internal wiring terminating in a jack on the shell of the drum. This would allow for easy dissassembly and transport of the kit.
