There is much debate and superstition about just what happens when you see the rapid, double green LED flash during initialization of the DJI NazaM controlled airframes.
Many say that it's Course Lock direction and Home Point being recorded.
The manual says different, but some still believe it to be so.
Per Supreme Balloon 11/4/14:
"Nope, HP is set when the CSC is executed and the motors spool up. You'll see the OSD change when this happens the numbers will appear."
Using OSD, he has proved that the manual is correct...

Jazzboy27 goes on to say:
That is also stated in the manual... "Home-point: Before takeoff, current position of multi-rotor will be saved as home - point by MC automatically when you start the motors for the first time after 6 or more GPS satellites are found (red light blinks once or no blinking) for 10 seconds."
I use this feature to set Home-point, then after home-point is recorded, turn of motors but keep my quad powered up and relocate it to a new position. Now if I initiate a RTH during flight my quad will return to my original location where home-point is set. Of course, I don't put props on my quad until I get to my final destination for safety reasons!

And I'll restate my position that the double flash is merely Course Lock establishing direction twice....

Over on the DJI Forum, Fant0mas has posted a link to his very informative guide for Phantom2 pilots.
Obviously, some work went into this document, and it deserves to be saved for future reference...

I presently don't plan to use the BMPCC as a hand-held piece of equipment.
A tripod, monopod, or handlebars is necessary to get stable footage.
So, if I leave the BMPCC mounted to the Z15 most of the time, I need to keep the two from getting banged around when I carry/transport them on the S800 Evo frame.
Here's what I've come up with.
My company uses large amounts of polyurethane foam padding on upholstered furniture.
I cut this stabilization block out of scrap...

For future reference, these are dealers that I have purchased from and had satisfactory customer service:
Empire Hobby (supplier to many dealers/a long time DJI distributor)
All e RC
Atlanta Hobby
Century Heli
UAV Products (perhaps the first... was DJI/USA)
Troy Built Models
Aerial Media Pros
Intelligent UAS
FWIW, there are dozens more, but I can't afford to purchase enough to use them all...

Ed and blade have been helping me set up the Z15 BMPCC gimbal on my S800 Evo.
This can get pretty confusing w.r.t. names and terms that are similar on the various components involved.
At one point, Ed suggested that I use his channel mapping and switch assignments (which were working) until we got my setup's behavior sorted out.
Once this was accomplished, I kept Ed's channel mapping, but changed the switch assignments to my liking (I'm RH and I'll bet Ed is LH...)
Here is a chart that I prepared that lists every setting and assignment...

12/14/14: I'm adding a link to blade's LB channel mapping video...

I've complained about this before, but I've been recently bitten by it again, and I need to vent somewhere!
How many posters purchase from on line sites based on stock availability?
I'd venture to say all of us do.
After all, are you going to place an order to let it go into back-order when you can get it shipped immediately from somewhere else?
I object to venders not keeping their inventory status current.
I also suspect some venders let the "In Stock" status stay on just to continue to get orders.
Then, you're somewhat trapped, and the alternative they offer you is cancelling the order.
And if the item is high demand, the other sites that had stock (if they did) are out too.
So then you're really trapped...

My middle name used to be "Easy".
I feel like changing it to "Pissed"!
But I'll settle for "Backorder"...

Here are pictures of the build during bench (or should I say floor) testing...
This thing weighs 16.5 pounds and it is BIG!
Don't know yet whether the pool noodles will cause turbulence under the props.
I plan to do initial flights over grass/mud.
I may not even run the retract for initial flights.

I'm using a 3.25 pound lead shot beanbag for ballast until I can install a 3D gimbal.
Hopefully the H3-3D...
