The XCBD is turning out to be an exciting project. Initially, it was just a custom plane project, but when I asked Mark Drela for advice it became a project for bringing the Cross Country flying community into the 21st century.

Apparently they have to be dragged there kicking and screaming. Because the XCBD is a radical departure from traditional designs they tend to poo poo it.

They don't realize how much planes for other disciplines have changed since in the 20 years since the planes they fly were designed.

My belief is that as soon as someone starts flying the XCBD in Cross Country they will see the light.
