While we were down in Texas at Apache Pass, I added a 1900kv Ritewing Rocket motor to my 26" Cuda on 6S 2900 with a 6x4 carbon prop. This thing rips now.

Had a mid-air at 125mph out at flight fest and did quite a number on my Cuda. So, I framed up a new 35" yesterday. This one will get LEDs and transparent covering. Not sure of the color scheme yet.

Here is a quick down and dirty build video for the Laines Planes EPP Cuda.

Forgot to add the CG location. Set your CG approx 1/4"-1/2" forward of where the wing meets the fuselage for the maiden flight. Then adjust to your liking from there.

For control throws, I set my rates at 100%, 75% and 60% on both elevator and aileron.

Be sure to give it plenty of up trim for your first launch. Its easy to trim an aircraft that's climbing, but difficult to trim one that's on the ground. ;-)

The Laines Planes EPP Cuda is BACK!

This time we will also have a "Special Edition" "Blackout" version! VERY limited quantities on the black.

First batch will be available at SEFF only (no shipping until May).

Very quick build time.

Includes airframe, motor mount, control horns, 2/56 control rods with quick links, hatch covers and vertical fin.

Recommended power system is:

Turnigy D2826-2000kv 84g outrunner
(Or Hobby King 2825-1959kv 82g "Funfighter" motor)
30+ amp ESC
3S-4S 2100 lipo
APC 7x4E prop
2 Power Up DS181MG digital, metal gear 12G servos.

I will have a handful of power systems and servos on hand at SEFF. But, if you want to fly it there, count on ordering your electronics and bringing them with you.

Sitting on a 8'x4' table. The fuselage is almost complete after just a couple days working on it in my spare time at work.

My original Gia Norman prototype served me well for 42 flights. Well, he now has a new home in PA so we cut a new kit and the build has begun. Got to make sure it's done, lit with LEDs and ready to fly for HAAEFI!

If you have thought about building a very fast, agile, unique looking airplane, the Cuda is your plane. If you have never built a balsa kit and are scared it's too hard or takes too long, the Cuda is your plane. If you love adrenaline, speed, and having a plane that stands out in a sea of ARFs, the Cuda is your plane.

A customer decided to do a build thread on a kit he bought from us at Flite Fest. Check it out and enjoy the read!

Figured I'd share some of the random things we have made here at Laines Planes this week. Yes, we do custom laser work also.

Got to go down to Texas to Airbus to do some training for work. While there, I went and hung out with Crash Hancock and his family for a couple days. Matt V. came down and we all went and flew the ParaCuda prototype for the first time.

We did the initial flight on 3S 2200, then stepped it up to 4S 2200. It flew great on both, but boy is it quick on 4S!

Here is the video. Thank you Matt V. for the great camera work and editing.

The ParaCuda will be available on www.LainesPlanes.com very shortly!

The new ParaCuda prototype is almost ready for its maiden flight! This version has the 26" span wings with the 10.5" center wing. Twin HET Typhoon 4W motors, with APC 5.5x6.5 props two Castle Edge 50's and HS82MG servos.

It can be flown as a twin or flown as a single 26" Cuda (as shown). All modular, mix and match.

Next prototype build will be the larger option. 35" wings with the 12" center.

Cudas are available at LainesPlanes.com, the ParaCuda will be available soon (if the test flights go as planned!)

Tired of looking all over the shop for your solder? No problem. Check this out. http://www.lainesplanes.com/buysoldercaddy.html

Put this thing on your work bench and you'll always know where your roll of solder is! Just dont buy the lead free stuff... it sucks. ;-)

Available with or without the drawer. Details at www.lainesplanes.com

Tired of eyeballing your parts before you glue that big project together? A set of PC Rib Jigs will straighten you right up.

Slide them over the part, pin them to the workbench and your all set! 1/8", 3/16", and 1/4". 1/16" on request. Also includes one multi size jig.

Tired of your planes always being crooked? Makes for an interesting maiden flight at times!

Anyway, these 3" tall laser cut jigs will help out your crooked eyes a bit. They did mine anyway. They even come with the nifty storage rack so they are not laying all over the shop getting chewed up by the dog.

Available with holes for pins or holes for 1/4" magnets.

I got a bit tired of my building table being a disaster. I spent a couple hours and made up this really nice laser cut tool caddy. YAY! No more messy work surface!

Size and details are located on my site here...

Went to a local fun fly here in Hastings, Nebraska. I'm actually a member of the club too' the Hastings Skylarks (first club membership ever for me).

As usual, Gia-Norman was a hit. He's so dang much fun to fly and always draws a crowd.
