RCPlaneBuilder.com is open for business!
This week my wife and I launched our online RC parts/supply store RCPlaneBuilder.com. This is something we've wanted to do for some time and it's nice to get it going.
Our products cater to electric foam plane builders. We currently offer EPP foam, carbon fiber, electric motors, ESCs, batteries, servo's, tools, props and other supplies. We plan on expanding our inventory with additional items and welcome any feedback on what you would like to see offered. I've also got a few plane designs in the works that I excited to offer both as kits and plans in the near future.
You can contact us off of our site or use our vendor forum right here on RCGroups. We are a sponsor for RCGroups.
Stop by and check us out!

I decided I wanted to try building a micro/mini EPP 3D plane. I've always liked how my Yaks have flown, so I decided to base it off of that (minor mods to the canopy). 22" seemed fitting using the 5mm EPP I had on hand.
I really like the way it flies.
Now I just need to add some paint.
- Hobby King 1404N 9.2g brushless motor
- HW 6amp ESC (lightened to 4g)
- Blue Bird 5CH 72mhz RX (lightened to 2.8g)
- Hobby King 2.2g servo's
- Turnigy Nano-Tech 1S micro batteries run in series (2S) 9.5g
- Airframe weight 26g

My 32" Leadfeather Edge with SFGs
This is my 32" Leadfeather Edge plane with SFGs added. The plane is built from 9mm EPP, with a 4mm carbon wing spar and a few CF rods supporting the horizontal fuse. This is the first EPP flat winge plane that I've built for some time that doesn't have the carbon fiber truss down the fuse and at the wing. I'm actually supprised that it's still pretty precise without it.
In addition to this Leadfeather plane I have a 36" Edge, 32" Yak and 42" Yak built from the plans. I have to give Leadfeather props for designing these awesome planes and sharing the plans for all to enjoy!!
Motor: Turnigy 2730-1300KV
Battery: 3S 500mah Blue Lipo
ESC: Volcano 12A (same as HobbyWing)
Servos: 1 HXT 9g (aileron) 2 HXT 5g (tail)
RX: Cirrus 4 ch

My RC Plane history
I started flying RC slope soarers/gliders about 20 years ago. Shortly after I bought a used nitro plane to fly on no-wind days. I continued building/flying both styles of planes for about 3 years before losing interest in the hobby.
Somewhere around 2000 I found a cheap clearance electric plane at a toy store and bought it for fun. I became hooked again on RC planes and built several blucore, depron, foamboard and later EPP planes. I mostly flew sport but got hooked on 3D flying in about 2001-2002. Shortly after that I lost interest again.
My family enjoys riding 4 wheelers and motocross bikes which lead me to buy a home in 2008 with some acreage and lots of surrounding riding areas. When we were moving it occured to me that it would be really easy for me to fly planes again right in my back yard, but I didn't right away. At the begining of this summer (2010) one of my sons wanted to watch me fly one of my old planes in my back pasture. So I charged up one of my old packs and I was hooked once more.
