And with room to spare!

I took the time today to see how compact I can fit all of the stuff that I'll need in my car... So far I've got the following

Flight Bag
Duffelbag with clothes and toiletries
Folding chair
Mach Dart
Blizzard
Mini Speed Wing
Weasel
Moth
Prairie Dog

I'll probably want to bring a cooler with some food and drinks in it... at least cereal for the mornings. Will probably end up buying subway for lunch on Saturday on my way into the slope and dinner is at the pizza place. Sunday I could eat breakfast in the hotel and perhaps another subway for lunch and the ride home.

I'm sure I will think of more things to fit into my car as well.

Our new manager at Discount Hobbies gave me one of his old gliders. I'm not sure what it is... he said it used to have polyhedral wings and he took the polyhedral out. It's a one piece foam core obeechi sheeted wing with a balsa V-tail and fiberglass fuselage. The wings and tail feathers are all covered in ultracote. Fuse feels like a very light layup and might need to be reinforced?

There is a small crack on the rear of the wing saddle, about 1-1.5" long or so. Also, there is another crack on the bottom of the fuse just forward of the wing saddle, about the same size. They appear to be minor repairs.

The only thing that I think should be done is enlarging the access hatch. It looks like he stuffed all his gear into the area directly beneath the wing saddle, leaving a large gap in the nose. I think if we moved the access area forward of the wing saddle and made some kind of canopy for it I could eliminate the need for some nose weight and make the airplane easier to handle on the hill (I wouldn't have to remove the wing every time I turned the airplane on or off).
