Well, she is now painted.
Here are the decals i will be applying.

they are a depiction of another BF-109 model i saw. i am not sure whom flew it, but its not very often you see this paint scheme.

I know its not 100% accurate, but it is close.

Even the cockpit recieved a once over too.

Well, the time has come to re-do my BF-109.
She has seen better days, so, now im going to be completely re-painting her, the skin has gone gator like, and cannot be doing any good for aerodynamics, so its time to rub her down, and test a new product to me.

Foam Armor.
Here is a long term project having to yet again take a back seat.

it is a 1/32 scale lancaster bomber, with aluminium skin, and ply formers.

And here she is in all her uglyness......

the damage.

Well,
after much work with lostsoul with his apps,

we have a working version of his flight map.

This is an epic app, and an absolute must for any one like myself who loves FSX.

this is my basic setup atm.

Head tracking - PS2 Eye Toy with FreeTrack V2
3 acer monitors
Razer Mouse and Keyboard
CnM 7" Tablets x2
Saitek X52 Pro Flight Stick HOTAS
GTX 650Ti OC (2gb Ram)
Intel i7
8GB Ram

I thought that running these apps would impact my system. they do not, well if they do its not noticeable,

when i say near, i mean within travelling distance for a FB.
i have no one i can fly with, or meet to fly with, to have a common ground like this place would be a good start,

if you know of a club (personally) or are close to me, PM me,

Just would be nice to fly with someone every now an then, than think why am i doing this on my own some times.

Unfortunatly, i dont have a FB or a friend around when i can get out there and fly, so no footage of my flight unfotunatly.

But, the repairs on the Wot-Next were 120% successful, she flew fnatastically. A small amount of trim required, but she flew straigh and level.

Applied full power, and she went verticle. She kept pulling, and pulling and pulling, right until i was near the 400ft limit, she got there quick. rolled well, and great authority over all surfaces.

So much so, i could have flown, and flown, and flown. You know what its like, when it feels like all the forces in play, align together, and give you the best flight of your life. This was it for me today, i have never flown so well, Even so, i made a new friend today, some bloke, walked over and started talking to me while i was flying, expecting that i have been flying for years. and a well skilled pilot. NOOOO i said, i am a noob, he looked very very shocked, i guess i made it look easy today.

I even had the confidence to get the 109 back out. all repaired, and de-flapped.

She flew beautifully, a little twitchy, which seems as though the plane is out of balance, but rolls great, and flies beautifully.

A fantastic bird.
I cant wait to strip her down, and re-paint her.
This will be a whole new project in itself.

Anyone whom is following my blog, will know i had apretty bad day yesterday.

But, i had a good re-pairing session last night. It took me a few hours, but i got there

The main damage was to the wing, but once i removed the flap mod, re-secured the flaps, she was pretty solid again, once i hot glue welded the crack line,

Solid as a rock again

I also resecured the top section of the rudder, as this had taken a beating, Toothpicks FTW

But my main WIN is the Wot-Next, She is ready to fly again,
She destroyed her rudder and elevator servos, the aileron servos are ok, and so is the rest of the electrics. It took me a while to piece her back together, With the nose, i dismantled it completly, leaveing the motor on the firewall, and re-pieced it piece by piece, untill i had to put the speed controller back in, then i moved onto the tail, But hey, here are my results

Well. I went to my local field today,
I was struck by a terrible run of bad luck, firstly i had that gut feeling something was going to go wrong...............

I should have put the planes away and gone home. But noooooooooooooooo, i had to get them out, as i am going away on monday for 5 days, and no matter the weather, i wont be able to fly.

But any way, I hand launched the Wot-Next, Way too steep, inverted and nosed into the floor... Yes that quick, before i could have chance to do anything.,,,,,,,,

pretty bad on the damage

Well, being here in the south of England, the weather is about as predictable as the next lottery ball.
The wind has not really let up enough for me to get out there and Maiden my BF109, or fly my Wot-Next. So i am stuck not flying.

On the other hand i have gotten a few steps closer to getting my Truck on the road. Did some welding and fabrication, And on top of all that completly screwed my knees up again.
Its quite bad this time, as i cant straighten my left leg, and i cant bend my right knee. So as i bet you can imagine, i am walking a little funny atm. this also does not help the fact i need to bend down quite a bit to pick stuff up off the floor, small childern and a wheel chair user makes for stuff always ending up on the floor.

Tyler haad his Hospital appointment today, We spoke to his consultant, and got some good, and bad news.
The Good news was his Hip Reconstruction was a sucess, and has healed nicly, The bad news is his plates are almost ready to come out.
Lickily for us, Tylers comprehension of whats going on is quite limited, so he didnt twig he is going to have to go back in for another operation. His 4th in 12 Months.
Sometime this does get vewry tough for all of us here in the house. I am his night carer, and God, some nights it is tough, some days are evn worse.
As with Tylers Condition, Quadriplegic Spastic Cerebral Palsy (This means he has no real control over his body at all. not even his chest or his big toe) he can be quite a...Continue Reading

Hey guys and gals,

For those of us in the UK, where do you get your spares from?

Now i know i ramble on about what i want to do blah blah blah. but truth of the matter, i am on less than a shoe string budget. I am looking at the parts list just for a PD2 (Peace Drone 2) not including and FPV or Video recording equipment, and thinking How long is this going to take me to get....

Some times i really think is there any point to all this, i mean i spend hours dreaming will i be able to afford this stuff. probably not. I mean how do you guys seem to be able to build these planes so cheaply, everything here is so expensive, Foam Safe glue £5+ CA and Activator over £10 do we get ripped off in the UK,

and for those of us who find it difficult at the best of times, this is almost an impossible hobby. Now can you see why i am so hesitant to fly my BF109. Yes i paid less than £40 for her. but still, i cant afford to loose that.
I try to see the value in parts from her, but still, i dont want to destroy her by my own foolish dumb thumbs.

Most of all, i am really envious of some of you guys, Your building skill, and designs are epic. If i had 10% of your building skill, yes i can cut a few bits of foam out, and stick them together, (when i can afford the damb glue) but that alone is not as easy as it looks really. as get this wrong, and the whole model goes wrong.

I just wish life would give me a little break sometimes, actually make things easy for me for a change. instead of struggling for everything i had, and everything i have got, and just give me a little break. a little luck.

Rant over.............

But seriously tho guys and gals. is there any place you personally go to to get stuff cheap, ranging from batteries, to servos, and props. any help on being able to source these parts cheapier, would be really grateful.

Hey guys and gals,

Well, i have finally built a plane to fly the wot-next, I built this plane to shake off the first flight nerves, before i fly the BF109.

Now my main question is, do i do the flap mod or not? i am thinking of doing the 2 flaps on the inner wing, and 1/2 - 3/4 of the 2nd Flap, just to keep the ailerons large, and hopefully keep their authority. or will it be ok to go by the panel lines and do the full flaps? i dont know.

Now i have not yet flown this plane, so would it be good to fly before i mod, or after? what would you do?

As you can probably tell i am still a little nervous, this is the 2nd bought plane i have ever owned, and i dont want this one to end up like the first...... busted up and stuck to the wall..... I have been wathing youtube vids, and i have a good idea of how im going to achieve the mod, as i have the materials to do so, but do i go the whole hog, or stay reserved, or steer clear for the moment?

Hey guys and gals.

Well, i thought it about time i started some sort of blog, so unfortunately you guys are the unfortunate souls whom i have chosen to burden.

So i have been here in RCGroups for some time, and posted a few times, in various threads, blah blah blah.

Who am I?
i am a mechanical maintenance engineer, this means i fix alot of broken stuff. ranging from a small dynamo to a primary oil pump for a cargo ship, some of the places i have been would make alot of you physically sick....

So anyway. My RC history started when i was about 14,
My first proper car was a Tamiya Honda Accord JTCC FWD Touring car (1/10th scale). I did everything imaginable to that thing. but to this day, i still dont know what happened to it...... Its like it just vanished out of my life.
I stayed with cars up until i was about 21, i had a range of them, from Nitro Buggys, to Electric touring cars. Because of my job, i was able to make anything i needed, like anti roll bars that were identical to the real thing, custom backbones, and shock mounts, to split 3 spoke wheels, made from aluminium.

This was it, until about 4 years ago. I was given a P-51 Mustang as a birthday present.
Needless to say, she lasted all of 10 mins. a sever lack of skill, and an ego that told me i could fly anything, lead to its fatal crash, but it is hard to get it to fly straight and level when you forgot to switch the ailerons over to the correct orientation.... But this led to the birth of...Continue Reading
