I had a good flying day today .... only a couple accidents .....

I destroyed my Diablo 3D Foamie ....

The battery came off ..... and caused a massive CoG change .... which made me go in nose first ......

I might build another one ... but I have to many other projects ....

The ESC on my AMX burnt out .... I am not sure why .... but it did ... I need to order a couple 30-40 Amp ESC's ....

My ProJeti flew awesome !

It was clocked going 97 mph ... and thats with a small prop ... I can go up some more ...

The elevons look like they need to be reinforced with some hinge tape ....

It was a good day ....

New Plane !

Well I finally figured out how to mount the motor on my Projeti !

I used a GWS black mount and some balsa ..... no need for details ....

So I finished it today and can't wait to fly it ...

I think it looks pretty good ......

Its using my Metal Gear servos from Hobby City , and an old Hi-Max motor that was on my Funjet .....


I wonder how fast it will be ?

Well thats what I thought ....

I bought a Phase 3 Squall ...... and as soon as I got it the ESC or motor burnt up ...

Just my Luck !

I bought it consignment and luckily the LHS owner took it back ....

I have gotten a lot more flights on the Slick and I love the plane !

Yesterday I finally got my RADAR GUN ! Wahoooooo !

It took Amazon.com 2 months ... but it got here ...

So for the AMX is the fastest at 73 mph ....

My friends Easygilder topped out at 55 mph ....

The FunJet will be clocked next ... I am hoping for 120 mph .... that would be awesome !

Sunday doesn't look great for flying ... but if I can fly ... I am taking the video camera ... .

The Slick Flies ! It Flies Awesome !

I had a couple minor things go wrong on the first maiden ... but on the second maiden ... it flew perfect !

I love it and can't wait to really try some 3D stuff with it ....

I also built a new 3D foamie ... A 3D Batix Dialbo ....

It flies awesome too !

It also had a couple issues but once solved its really fun to fly !

It took me three days ...

The first day I ran out of CA ....

Then the second day I had to stop due to homework/my servos didn't arrive.

The third day I finally finished !

WAHOOOOO !

The build was easy ... only my second ARF so I made some mistakes ... but you can't really tell.


Maiden flight tomorrow ... or Saturday ...

I ordered my 3DHS 42" Slick ... now its time to practice !

I have been flying an E-flite Sukhoi for about 1.5 years and its been abused ... very abused ...

I took it out to fly today and was doing very well ... so I pulled out the video camera and put it on the tripod .....

I though "Wow that was a great flight ... maybe if I can get it on video I can post it on youtube .... "

No one was recording or even at the flying field ......... I took off rolled inverted pulled it around in a tight circle .... into a nice snap roll and BAM ground

The counter balance on the elevator broke and so did the prop ... but I realized that the plane was probably getting too broken ... and I needed to upgrade ....

This was when I realized the plane wasn't coming home in one piece ... and that I was going to order a 3DHS 42" Slick .....

I replaced the prop .... and cut the counter balance off and deciede that I would try some stunts I wasn't daring enough to try.

I had recently seen Doc Austin flying in a video and thought " Hey you should try to fly like that! ".

So I did some low hovering ... which caused another crash ... causing the gear to nearly come off ... but I kept going .... now I was hand launching the plane.

I then came in doing harriers the dragging the bottom of the rudder and hovering some more ... another crash soon followed .... Then I tried low rolling circles .... another crash ... now the plane was barely in one piece.

School has started .... not much flying going on ....

Well I did it again .. this time it was totally in control.

I was doing rolling circles and gave the wrong input and paniced .. and down it went .

Nose first .....

I didn't think I could repair it but I did .....

If I had a little more cash ... I would buy a 3DHS 42" Slick ... but I need a little bit more cash ... maybe I can get one used.

I had to repair the whole motor box ... again ... this time myself and I think I did a good job. Its not as pretty .. but very strong.

I broke the fuse in the same place ... not to bad ...

I am still using the same cowl .... its pretty ugly ...

This plane has been through heck ... but I will continue to fly it until I can buy something else ... which should be soon.

The worst news is ....... School starts Monday !
